  • Hi folks, Yes, the issue that was formerly preventing MSFS (2020) from shutting down properly after exiting the sim and required manual executable termination from Task Manager is now resolved wi

  • I wish they would leave 2020 alone. It works fine now.

Because it's a server and client architecture.  Windows is not really a server and client architecture. You can use Windows without an internet connection. A lot of MSFS 2020 heavily depends on the se

After a couple of IFR flights (UK) and a low altitude VFR flight (central Italy) I can't say I see anything wrong with terrain textures... maybe because I come from months of FS2024?

It would be useful to see before/after screenshots from people who were in the beta.

Does everyone else have this huge amount of updates? I selected all thinking a few gigs and I'd be flying. Not over 100gb....

Might load up p3d in background and fly a long haul while this is going down.....

EDIT - it finished in about an hour (those totals are not reliable!) then it found another 7 to update.

Will see if these are the last.

Don't remember the exact number, but it was a lot and included what you've got on your screen.  Seems like I've read of a few others having problems in NZ.  Can you launch elsewhere?

Has been flawless for me in N America with what continues to be improved performance and stunning visuals.  I'm at a loss when I read of people saying things like "we're reverting to FS9 level graphics", when I have flights like I've had over the last three days in the TBM 850, today from KPGA to KRIW.  Simply stunning mountain and desert views (yesterday's flight over the Grand Canyon was the best Canyon viewing I've ever had from FL250) and not even a suggestion of a hiccup.  On my end, this update has been a gem, and I've long since forgiven the minor glitch of having all my graphics settings reset to defaults.

Edit: Forgot to mention today's incredible descent over the Wind River Range into Riverton, WY.  Just wow!

NOW you tell me!!

I finally loaded NZWR flew to NZAA in Duke Turbine. Once on ILS GS boom massive stutters. Unflyable. Used AP to land ...got claps from passengers...

Video still showed stuck at 100ft. Whole win 11 freeze. Had to tab-close all apps then use task manager to log off windows.

So you're saying IF I fly near where the shareholders live it looks great? As opposed to not being usable and hanging windows?

Oh and looking ***** above 3000 ft if I pressed zoom button by mistake?

I just purchased a few addons from OrbX for NZ last month on sale I WANT to fly them...

Apart from stutterfest take off and landing scenery was smooth and cartoon like (think Disney Snow White era). Pretty but no close up detail.

Yup luckily I was home early when the update dropped and got some really fast download times through them all.

Went out mowed the lawn and everything was updated and ready to go once I returned to my PC.😅

I have a very unusual situation related to the update. First of all, it updated smoothly, and it looks a flys just fine. However, my logbook is wiped to zero hours vs the 940 I accumulated. Secondly for each flight i am loading I am now getting a depiction of the Xbox controller with the various button functions notated. I have the store version and do not have an X-box controller and have not ever flown the sim on an X-box. I have signed out of my account several times to no avail. I have not reinstalled the sim yet as I really don’t want to go through the hassle. I am beyond frustrated as FS2020 has previously been a pain free experience for me from the very start.

I don't remember Hawaii looking this blurry, it was always a stunning island chain to explore. When Asobo limited the aerial imagery zoom level to 18 from 20, it has had a major impact on the places that were being rendered at the ZL 20. Hawaii and Monaco are a perfect example.

New Zealand was the same for me until I got the 1fpm frame rate on landing when it looked OK again. No longer the supreme vfr sim it now sits closer to the older sims it used to blow away for several years after launch. It doesn't look as good as orbx true earth scenery in p3dv5 imo. Everything looks so average now.

It’s a complete joke. I can’t understand how the sim got here. And no acknowledgement from Asobo/MS.

Well that looks truly YUCK!  At least now I see what others have been complaining about, as everything I've flown over has been outstanding in the western US.

No problems with ground textures on my PC so far (after flights around six Spanish airports and two French airports).

Sent a comment yesterday (see above). Does my PC

now think it’s an Xbox? Is that why I am getting 0 hours and a pictorial guide to my (non-existent) Xbox controller! Any useful suggestions are much appreciated!

Loving the increased performance gains of SU16. MSFS 2020 never felt this good in VR!

Pimax Crystal Super+Active Sky+Rex Atmos= One stunning visual experience in flight simming!😍
