My opinion is wait. I did manage to eventually get everything I wanted downloaded and installed, but I haven't really noticed an improvement in performance or visual quality after this change - and it definitely increased startup time of the sim (and obviously uses quite a bit of storage space). In my opinion, at the moment the cons outweigh the pros when it comes to downloading content.

May 22, 20251 yr FWIW I am happy enough to have again no major issues with SU3b. First build caused 2-3 CTD, completely out of the blue and not addressable to any of the CTD reports found in the official forum. With current build I saw once stuttering to a standstill when opening chrome while flying. when I open chrome before 2024 all good - like now. both FBW and Fenix work just great, performance is impeccable. do use them now primarily since that awesome WinWing MCDU is just a blast with them. Will try ini350 next but skipped it so far as it does have no MCDU support yet AFIK Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

Depends how relaxed you are about fiddling around when / if things go wrong. I used to be pretty relaxed about it and even quite enjoyed it. These days ... I just want stuff that works tbh. Even the official releases are hardly risk-free, based on experience to date. So I'd steer well clear of the betas, which seem to be even riskier! 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor. May 22, 20251 yr Update : Got this beta SU3 running. 1 Used DDU to uninstall the NV driver and manually installed the latest one 2 Saved the Community folder in a save place and placed an empty one is Fs 3 Loaded Fs and put some sliders back where they were before 4 Loaded into the scenery. The problem with this is that, whilst yes, betas are to test for errors and bugs and regressions etc., these things get reported on the beta forums and then they just don’t get addressed and left in for when the live update is released. Take, for example, airport ground lighting. It was reported that the SU2 beta broke the airport ground lighting make the lights just massive blurry blobs. SU2 was eventually released as the build for everyone. Guess what, airport ground lighting broken. Take, for example, the stutters and FPS loss when just approaching the runway about to land. This issue was not present in SU1 and the early SU2betas, it was introduced in the final few beta builds of SU2. It was very heavily reported on the beta forums. Guess what, when SU2 was released as the live build. The issue was there. The betas achieve very little, people try to test and report stuff, but it just gets ignored and released anyway. They are more like just the update we will all get eventually, the beta testers just get it a bit earlier, complete with some improvements, though a lot of them rather obscure stuff a lot (I am not saying everyone) of people won’t even notice, lots of bugs that need fixing urgently that aren’t fixed, and lots of regressions that should never have been included in a full release that are included, and then will have to wait months to be fixed and put back to how they used to be - if they ever are. May 22, 20251 yr It looks and performs really great SU3, Only problem I had that controller settings were lost in sim. (Lucky I map most with Lorby AAO)
