One thing they can do is just release it on marketplace. I hate marketplace but getting sceneries from there isn’t the WORST in the world. They’ll have their precious encryption without the need to lo

I have reduced the file for a lot of textures without compromise the visual in this performance update that is coming very soon. For sure will help. Regards, Matteo

They just lost me forever. Orbx can now go pound sand. I would have paid $100 for this but now they’ve lost me as a customer.

The title is clickbait. The scenery is beautiful, especially for airport of that scale. It just needs some optimization for textures. Look at INI KDFW - very mediocre job, though flyable.

Yes it is clickbait, but you haven't seen the video have you? He analyses the scenery in developer mode and e.g. one of his findings is that KATL has over 100.000 (!) draw calls, while something not exactly lightweight like ini EGKK has 2500. Also many objects seem to have no LOD whatsoever.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

you call it clickbait. I thank him for being honest. This scenery is;

  • not finished

  • not worth it's price

  • nothing new

  • to many unfinished areas.

there are way better sceneries ( quality and performance ) around for for a lower price.

Yes, I watched the video and was badly impressed the detalization of the interiors. We must have an option to turn it off.

I just completed a flight in the Fenix A320 into the new KATL scenery, using SayIntentions ATC with live traffic injection. I fly in 4K, and for this flight I disabled 3D passengers, static ramp personnel, and animated ramp agents. I also manually disabled the VDGS docking system.

I use AutoFPS, with the frame rate locked at 30 native FPS, which gives me 60 FPS with NVIDIA 2x frame generation.

Overall, the flight went fairly smoothly. I didn’t notice any stuttering on final approach or touchdown. I did get some stutters on rollout and during taxi to the gate, but nothing severe.

I did notice that my VRAM usage climbed to 22 GB, so I can definitely see where users with lower-VRAM cards could run into issues here, especially at higher resolutions. In my case, I think the stutters were probably caused by main-thread spikes, likely due to the number of aircraft SayIntentions was injecting at the airport.

I just landed 8L in a 777.

Taxiing...wow...the taxiways put me at some point at a 30 degree angle.

Elevation is really bad

That almost sounds as if Orbx ATL is combination airport and roller coaster.

I’ve been on dozens of test flights where I was in the jump seat. In my opinion he got the dip and slopes of the runway spot on. You’d be at the end of the runway and looking forward you can literally see it disappear.

WOW! Talk about telling it like it is.

For those of you who don't know me, please read what I wrote a few posts ago, before the scenery was released. I thank you sincerely for all the sincere reviews.

I'll pass on this one. My poor computer will never be able to run this airport.

Hello, at katl all objects have LOD. The way how msfs is designed do not allow to have models without LOD. If there were no lod the model would not been displayed. A lot of buildings at KATL comes with 5 or more lod.

Btw i releasing an performance update where i have reduced the vram use. Now the size of the scenery go from 10gb to about 7gb. Plus i have added some more fix.

Best regards,

Matteo

Matteo,

Any chance to get an option to turn off the interiors?

And moving vehicles! Love the clutter but crossing the live taxiway is wild. (Though I know it happens IRL when there are no conflicts)
