One thing they can do is just release it on marketplace. I hate marketplace but getting sceneries from there isn’t the WORST in the world. They’ll have their precious encryption without the need to lo

They just lost me forever. Orbx can now go pound sand. I would have paid $100 for this but now they’ve lost me as a customer.

Matteo,

Any chance to get an option to turn off the interiors?

Yes, I watched the video and was badly impressed the detalization of the interiors. We must have an option to turn it off.

It's difficult being right all the time. I had said right from the beginning it would be this new obsession for the kids to have useless stuff in terminals

Hello, at katl all objects have LOD. The way how msfs is designed do not allow to have models without LOD. If there were no lod the model would not been displayed. A lot of buildings at KATL comes with 5 or more lod.

Btw i releasing an performance update where i have reduced the vram use. Now the size of the scenery go from 10gb to about 7gb. Plus i have added some more fix.

Best regards,

Matteo

Always great to see developers visiting over here!

It’s a tough crowd, but we appreciate your work 👍

Michael Wimma from RW Profiles is even trying to help Matteo. Looks like even he agrees that our performance issues are related to the draw calls. I'm glad to see other developers genuinely trying to jump in and help. With that said, it would appear Matteo might have been in a little over his head with this ambitious project. Hoping he can continue working to resolve it, but from reading this post, it seems like he has a lot of work ahead of him.

I'm shocked. If true. The scenery released without lod steps?? No wonder it performance bad. How is it possible this was not done. Also the textures sizes etc.

But you’re not right, this has nothing to do with detailed interiors and is a matter of optimisation. 100k draw calls is insane

I'll wager a bet someone with an excel spreadsheet at orbx said it was time to release now just before kids holidays.

It's been common place to release unfinished pay to beta for over a decade and each time this community lap it up

They did exactly the same with their Australian airports and orbx true earth on xp12

Perfect example here of what aerosoft did with Frankfurt

This 58 year old kid loves seeing "useless stuff" in terminals. I would have thought that all of this "useless stuff" would be culled from the render pipeline whenever it cannot be seen from the cockpit?

Happens with general gaming genres and other simulator genres, it's a trend that's long past reverting to better times unfortunately.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Anyone have the changelog ?

Got myself a copy and had a couple of drone camera tours. In many ways I now don't get what a lot of the build-up was all about. A lot of the exteriors and the various ancillary bits and pieces are very impressive and nicely done (visually - I have no personal knowledge as to accuracy but then that doesn't worry me anyway), but the interiors I have seen leave much to be desired. Lots of the terminal buildings seem to have blank interiors that you can still "enter" and then find yourself missing exterior walls, ceilings, floors etc. Where there are terminal interiors they seem quite low quality, and certainly the people models are a long way from the best I've seen.

I don't regret buying it, but for my taste it's nothing special. There are a lot better out there.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

It’s an odd thing. Some, not all, were absolutely clamoring for it to be released then when it is some people, not all, are tearing it apart. I reckon it’s human nature. And first world problems.
