August 17, 2025Aug 17 Yep. Haven’t done it in beta. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
August 18, 2025Aug 18 A couple of SU3 beta updates ago, required an uninstall and reinstall, that's the only thing I'm aware of. Bill McIntyre Asus StrixB650E-F Gamer, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Corsair Titanium DDR5 64GB, Samsung 990 PRO-4TB M.2, (4) 2TB SSD's, Corsair H1150i liquid cooler, RTX 2080TI Founders Edition, (2) LG 34" HD Curved Monitor, Sound Blaster Audigy X, 1Kw PC Power & Cooling Power Supply, Corsair Obsidian Full tower Case. MSFS 2024, WIN11 Pro x64
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Not really required. They said it’s best to reinstall, but many of us (me included) didn’t do a full reinstall and it worked just fine. It was more of a strong recommendation than a requirement. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Reinstall is actually pretty simple.... backup your camera settings and rename the Community folder to Community_bckup for example... that is all. I have done it one time in the beta SU3 since it was required. The download size is almost exactly the same when leaving or entering the beta or with the release of SU3. The requirement of a reinstall with the release of SU3 isn't known at this point, if it follows the previous versions it won't be necessary... Edited August 18, 2025Aug 18 by virtualstuff André
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Enjoy it, and continue in the beta waiting for SU4 early versions... FS 2024 is the BEST general purpose civil flight simulator of all times !!!! Like never before I can fly on this single platform, airliners, ga prop, helis, gliders and even lighter than air (which I didn't yet try...) experiencing unique World scenery, with or without photogrammetry ( I don't use PG ). Coupled with just a few addons, or even using only default aircraft and systems/services, nothing beats FS 2024 IMO. Delightful!!! August 18, 2025Aug 18 It won't require a reinstall. No RC update to either version of MSFS has ever mandated a full reinstall. You might be forced to with beta versions because they are beta and occasional break things in the process. That's why I tend to avoid the betas. If the RC version of the update forces you to do a full reinstall then your sim was botched in the first place. Was not painful at all. backup your settings and rename community folder, then let it rip. The last Beta reinstall was highly recommended but not required. August 18, 2025Aug 18 Author The point of this is to plan a test of some sort to see how SU3 works at say KSFO. dd
