Apparently turning off PG fixes it. Makes you wonder if anyone actually opens the sim and tests before they push out those builds.

More and more I starting to think people just fixate on their PC performance stats

I've been doing that since the invention of graphics cards ☺️ but yes this beta is very apt as it's centered around performance optimisations.

I had to drop back to SU3.  SU4b I was giving me really bad cockpit redraw problems.
If I went to outside view then back inside it looked like a cardboard cut-out of the cockpit that slowly repopulated the textures and instruments.
I never saw that before.  The new YS-11 was taking about 5 seconds to redraw the cockpit.

I spent three hours messing around with this.  Clearing every cache, trying different drivers, fiddling with internal settings, had rolling cache at 16 (my standard), 32, 64, even tried resizing the windows cache, totally resetting my PC, totally empty Community folder.  Nothing worked.  Went back to SU3, and all fine.

As nobody else has reported this, I can only think my SU4b installation got screwed somewhere.
I will reenter SU4b after a few more updates and test again, but for now, I just want to fly.
A fix to the frame rate slider, and further fixes to the hardware adjustments would be good (I still have no adjustment curves for my V1 Flightstick).

SU3 works great for me anyway.  The only performance hog I have come across is the Asobo 737 Max - really bad frame rates and stutters.  Does anyone else find that also?  Things like the Fenix and PMDG 737's are dead smooth.

Did I really hear Jorge say the are working on updating around 70 aircraft for this beta?  I hope so.  I miss some of my old favourites.  A 2024 updated C207 would be nice for example.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Just reset and recalibrate your controls. It's a beta, these things happen. It does work perfectly fine, I have been on SU4 beta since day 1, no issues of this nature with any planes. I have a Honeycomb Bravo and a ForceFeedback2, both work fine.

This one.. I have no idea, sorry. Maybe reach out to MSFS Support?

Yes, I will try to recalibrate again but the behaviour exists on the default airplanes such as B737 Max Asobo...

What is wrong with the c207 in 2024? I didn't have it in 2020 but I did buy the aviator edition of 2024 and briefly tried the 207 the other day and didn't notice any dramatic bugs. The main problem was the default view is off, either the viewpoint is very low or the it is angled down.

I am looking forward to seeing what aircraft fixes are coming, especially wrt to the aviator planes.

Edit : Recalibration worked somehow for airplanes which has in-cockpit calibration such as Fenix A320 but for the default Asobo airplanes and for the ones that has no-cockpit calibration still shows the same strange behaviour.

Yes, well even the view thing is worth an update surely?  But I also found it difficult to trim out compared to 2020 where it was quite stable.  It was either climbing or descending quite drastically in 2024 for me.  I had to put it on autopilot in the end.
But it would be really nice to have the 2024 updates where we can do a walkaround etc. as well.

The 207 works in 2024 but not very well. GPS is very out of date, you can't remove the co-pilot even when removing the weight and yes, the flight model has a few quirks. I've love to have it brought up to 2024 Carenado standards - it's amazing to see the difference between MSFS2020 Carenado and MSFS2024 Carenado - they have improved quite a bit. And I do miss the Cargo version with this one especially.

I hope the 2024 MS Vision Jet is one of them. Those appendages that stick down from beneath the fuselage are unsightly and in real life are very short I believe. Also, the plane handles poorly on takeoff and landing. Throw in the lack of liveries compared to the FFX 2020 version and up to this point it doesn't make one want to use the new version. Hopefully it will get some love.

As I said I am interested and quite hopeful to see what updates come in su4. It would be great if Jorg has seen that these aircraft need ongoing support and not just released and ignored thereafter.

I think a lot of the FF/LL aircraft use the old avionics and from what I have read it is a simple fix to swap them to the new versions and if WT are involved hopefully that will get done.

I don't see the co-pilot but I do have the co-pilot avatar turned off in settings.

Also the cargo and sky-diving variants are available. The selection screen just labels them all as 'default livery' but if you click on them you will see them identified correctly higher up and the different variants will load in the flight.

I’ve finally also tested the new beta build, and despite going through the usual steps like clearing the Rolling Cache etc, I’ve noticed a clear regression compared to previous releases. There’s noticeable annoying flickering on ground textures in payware sceneries, around a 15% FPS drop compared to the gains seen in earlier builds, and some stutters during taxi, takeoff, and landing runs.
Not a complaint, just a report — hopefully this helps highlight what seems to be a marked regression compared to the initial versions of the SU4 Beta.

Yeah. I think it has to do with photogrammetry. Disable that and the airport issues should resolve. Also, i noticed a pretty huge performance drop while using BATC and SI. FSHUD doesn't seem to have the same problems. Try changing those things first and then report back.

I have also noticed a regression in smoothness and fps compared to previous builds. This happens regardless of whether I'm using BATC or FSHud or nothing at all. The 1% lows are no longer as good or as smooth. About 15% seems about right.

It's still good and still better than SU3, but not as butter smooth as it was. I hope that comes back!

VRAM usage is also up. I'm seeing it use 15-22 GB whereas in previous builds it was more in the 10-15 range. I have a 4090 so it still copes, but even on this card I have seen the "Running out of Memory" (or words to that effect) pop up, which I have literally never seen (or almost never). Definitely feels "heavier".
