MSFS2024 SU4 Beta v1.6.13

Featured Replies

Hello captains. Does anyoneelse having throttle issue after the latest SU4 Beta (just joined beta) ? My ENG 2 throttle moves to CLB by its own on most aircrafts, for example Fenix a320 ? Thanks. ( I am using Thrustmaster A320 Throttle Quadrant) Aircrafts are not flyible for me at the moment !

Additionallyi my career mode was not accessible at SU3 and I just joined SU4 Beta to have a chance to get Career Mode working but still no chance. Is there anyone who can suggest a solution or know why ? Thanks.

Apparently turning off PG fixes it. Makes you wonder if anyone actually opens the sim and tests before they push out those builds.

Anyone else using VR seeing a pretty hefty FPS drop in SU4? I kept hearing about the significant performance gains so figured I’d give the beta a shot. I’m seeing the exact opposite.

SU3 I’m able to very easily achieve a locked 38 fps (half my BSB2e refresh rate) for a very smooth experience, anywhere…including PG heavy areas like LA, NYC, etc… AutoFPS and Dynamic Settings turned on, along with Foveated Rendering and DLSS Quality.  Also running with Say Intentions.

SU4 beta, I simply cannot push my FPS any higher than 32 / 33 with the exact same settings. I’ve even tried putting TLOD all the way down to 50, and I’m still at 32 fps. Absolutely nothing has changed on my end. I switch back to SU3, and I’m locked 38 again.

I’ll need to do more testing, but it seems like my GPU usage is a lot less in SU4 than SU3. I was seeing around 65% usage in SU4. Switch back to SU3 and I’m back up into the 90’s. Again, same exact settings.

For reference, I’m running an RTX 5080, with an AMD 5800x3d.

500ft+ off the ground performance is very good in VR for me that's with mods and apps running, there's the ground stutters that's still an issue even though Asobo have done optimisation work in this area for this beta (they need to do more quite clearly).

Someone in the discord actually just fixed my issue.  There's apparently a bug with in sim frame rate locking right now.  Locking frames in the sim actually ends up locking them lower than you set.  I unlocked mine and my fps skyrocketed into the 50's.  Now i'll need to just lock outside the sim somehow.

Yeah, the performance in SU4 is outstanding. I don’t get any stutters and was able to increase my settings to full Ultra and keep TLOD at 400 and OLOD at 200 all in a Pimax Crystal VR headset, whether in the air or on the ground. I convinced a friend of mine to try the Beta. He flys in VR with a 4060 GPU and was astonished about the performance and being able to turn his settings way up, seeing detail he hadn’t experienced before.

I’ve only had one issue and that was with VHHH. It’s poorly optimized so I can’t run those settings there. I turned off FPS Caps because of the bug, but I don’t think I’ll turn it back on even after it’s fixed because the performance is that good.

Kudos to Asobo for nailing the optimizations!

Same here: Blacksquare TBM850 + Beyond ATC with traffic injection + Rex Atmos Beta version, all settings on medium/high, on a3060TI and a 1440p ultra widescreen monitor. Smooth as silk.

Yeah but you're trying to do all of that with a card that had 8GB of VRAM. The wider videogame industry has indicated that 8GB is not enough anymore. I recognized that and got a 9070XT and SU4's optimization was just the cherry on top.

The 3060ti should win some kind of award because it runs MSFS so well.

Nah, everything works fine, and if this was widespread we would have heard from more people.

This sounds like a config issue or perhaps a conflicting peripheral specific to your setup. Try the usual troubleshooting steps. It works fine for most people so you know it will work.

Regarding Career mode - what was your issue in SU3? And what is the issue in SU4? Specifically what’s happening?

Career Mode had issues in SU4 (which are now fixed, I think) and anyway the beta career is completely separate from non-beta. So stuff you do in the beta won’t carry forward to the release or vice versa.

I haven't tested glides for a while. Now, when I did test, I could not even take off from the ground because the tow plane did not move. Is this a SU4 beta specific problem?

I also noticed several times "standing" pilots outside the planes. Are they back or have they been there all the time?

Then I did try to fly those low flying challenges. I did have very bad shuttering. Frame rates were about one frame / sec. I have VR glasses. This might be a problem in my own setup...

Thanks foryour reply.

It is good to hear that throttle is not a problem for more people. I will try to solve mine. But there was no problem at SU3 (non-beta) with exactly the same setup and now there is problem with SU4 beta . Hard to understand.

For the career mode, it was always same and now it is still the same When ı try to enter Career Mode, it says "Career Mode Inaccessible Server Error". Do not have idea why or how ?

Just reset and recalibrate your controls. It's a beta, these things happen. It does work perfectly fine, I have been on SU4 beta since day 1, no issues of this nature with any planes. I have a Honeycomb Bravo and a ForceFeedback2, both work fine.

Yeah, I’ve also noticed a dip in performance on/near the ground. This is with a word not allowedton of addons running, but the last one was pretty perfect.

More and more I starting to think people just fixate on their PC performance stats

That’s the whole point of the SU4 Beta. 🤣 It’s been focused on performance optimizations; thus, why people are posting about it.

I get that completely, I just know sometimes if I stare at the fps counter i can go mad vs just turning it off and focusing on flying.
