? Pointless post. So no one should ever do a beta test? Then you realize that you will be the beta tester when they release publicly.

Beta testing has a purpose and should be done with that in mind. It’s not a way to get a better game faster or whatever you seem to think it is.

Yeah a little, but eh.

I agree, It most certainly has a purpose but I just think too many people treat it as a general game update and get quite upset that its broken or things have deteriorated.

"It’s not a way to get a better game faster or whatever you seem to think it is" Well considering the bulk of Asobo beta is dedicated to performance optimization, Yea I do actually.

Apparently turning off PG fixes it. Makes you wonder if anyone actually opens the sim and tests before they push out those builds.

It already is IMO. I dropped 2020 in December, no regrets.

Working fine here for me with BeyondATC + Traffic. That uses simconnect. I also have Volanta and LittleNavMap running, which also use SimConnect.

I have had freezes, but only when SayIntentions was also running. I haven't renewed my sub for that, so it isn't an issue anymore

Si did something and now all is good. Running great on SU4 Littlenavmap and SayIntentions+traffic.

Anyone else also seeing a nightlighting regression in the latest beta build? The gorgeous night lighting of the last (two?) builds is gone with “real” lights limited to a very small circle around the user, and much lower resolution textures than we had last week in the distance?

I too have had freezes with say-Intentions and Beta V1.6.13

I wasn't sure SI was the cause because it doesn't happen on every flight and because I fly exclusively in VR mode, I thought perhaps I have settings too high.

Literally every flight it was for me, Now, Not at all. They (SI) say its the SU4, so they changed something on their end, Now its fine, no freezes. Flown about 6 flights today and no freeze issue

I'm not noticing seeing this.

I have a question for you MSFS2024 users:
I recently saw a thread here ( I can't find it now, otherwise I would have linked it ) that said ( and this was more or less confirmed by many or almost all user comments ) that the various hardware settings for throttles and sticks still cannot be saved individually for each aircraft.
If that's the case, it would be a NO GO for me because I have about 50 or more different settings saved in MSFS2020, and if that doesn't work, MSFS2024 won't work for me because that would be a special requirement that is very important to me.
You can imagine why, because every time I visited the sim, I would have to redo these settings over and over again, and I'm not going to do that.
So the question is, is that still the case, or does it now work as it should, i.e., the individual settings for each AC are saved correctly and remain available at all times?
I hope for honest answers...

cheers 😉

They are definitely for me. I have a stick and pedals that I use for both helis and some GA (where it makes sense) and have wildly different curves for both.

They’ve been working fine for me, I set them up once and haven’t touched them since pretty much the sim came out.

This. I barely even remember doing it.

I do want to acknowledge that some people have had problems with their profiles. Personally, not sure if it’s because I have it on Steam with a custom community folder location - but haven’t had any issues.

Anyone else using VR seeing a pretty hefty FPS drop in SU4? I kept hearing about the significant performance gains so figured I’d give the beta a shot. I’m seeing the exact opposite.

SU3 I’m able to very easily achieve a locked 38 fps (half my BSB2e refresh rate) for a very smooth experience, anywhere…including PG heavy areas like LA, NYC, etc… AutoFPS and Dynamic Settings turned on, along with Foveated Rendering and DLSS Quality.  Also running with Say Intentions.

SU4 beta, I simply cannot push my FPS any higher than 32 / 33 with the exact same settings. I’ve even tried putting TLOD all the way down to 50, and I’m still at 32 fps. Absolutely nothing has changed on my end. I switch back to SU3, and I’m locked 38 again.

I’ll need to do more testing, but it seems like my GPU usage is a lot less in SU4 than SU3. I was seeing around 65% usage in SU4. Switch back to SU3 and I’m back up into the 90’s. Again, same exact settings.

For reference, I’m running an RTX 5080, with an AMD 5800x3d.

Try running with an empty community folder and no third party stuff running at all. Something might be conflicting.
