2024 beta SU4 1.6.23.0 released

Featured Replies

Really like the current SU4 beta.  Flew Fenix A320 from iniBuilds YBBN to FlyTampa YSSY, night flight, smooth as silk, just amazing.  Live weather.

Looking forward to SU4.

Lately I've been doing only short VFR flights. Performance with su4 beta been great. Yesterday I've flown the FBW320, 2hours and a half flight. Started with best performance, FPS then went lowering, from 60+ at beginning of flight, to 17fps at landing. Am I the only one?

No. Sounds like you're affected by this (officially acknowledged) bug: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/main-thread-loads-up-more-and-more-and-doesnt-recover/729018/713

'It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.'

For those hoping for a release of SU4 quite soon, please don't wish that on the people having issues.

It will be ready when it has been baked a bit more.

With all the optimisations and main thread changes they mention, this is probably the most they have changed core MSFS since the start.
It isn't easy, and there is obviously still a degree of fine tuning to be done.

I recognise there has been some useful performance optimisation when I test the beta occasionally, but for me, SU3 is still more stable / usable when I opt back out.

For those in the beta and happy with it, there is no issue - just stay in it as it is, it doesn't matter if they release SU4 early for you does it?

For those on SU3 and can't wait, easy - join the Beta and find out.  Easy to revert back to SU3 if you need to.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

There's still a few VR regressions that need sorting in this beta as well, be good to have them fixed at least alongside the obvious other ones listed on the official beta forum.

My fear is they'll want to rush it out for the 1st Anniversary, not that we need reminding of what happened a year ago...!

Thanks, going to take a look, usuallly I dont visit official formums very often.

But checking with HWmonitor, CPU usage was quite low, while GPU was at 95% all time (14700K and 7900XT).

If this still happens and probably never get`s fixed i will never make a touch on MSFS2024, that's one thing I absolutely cannot accept, among other bugs, of course...

Honestly, as a 2020 user and supporter, please stop... The same way there are a few over the top supporters of  2024 who want to make it into the best thing since the Internet and who end up putting a lot of other people off there are a few over the top 2020 supporters who cause all of us to get lumped into the same (unadmirable) group.

It's a bug in a beta, while it doesn't impact me I am also quite certain as they worked through the bugs in the 2020 Beta's they will also work through this in the 2024 beta...

What you are doing, even with a winky emoji doesn't help either camp in any way.

Exactly, Performance is the worst its been this cycle... what they had at the beginning of SU4 was special, sad that they lost it now... maybe there is a chance we can get it back...

I keep suffering from the arrival airport not loading in - sometimes completely, other times just the textures. The sim isn't attempting to download it (bandwidth monitor is at 0). It's not a great experience after a couple of hours flying.

it's base sim issue, not streaming, as I've had it happened with some locally installed airports.

Edit: Oh this is a different issue than I experienced. nvm

I haven't had that happen yet.
