RSR predicts release timeframe for updated B738

These people lost me with their disastrous support for the DC6, and with no news about this aircraft for 2024, I still think it's a company that doesn't deserve its reputation.

The endless critical comments aimed at PMDG really do get boring very, very quickly.

  • Just here for the RSR and PMDG bashing that will inevitably follow LOL  🍿 If a developer still developing for both platforms has literally zero impact on someone's life not sure why anyone would

  • Where do you get this stuff from? According to Randazzo himself the MSFS version of the DC-6 outsold the entire combined sales of the FSX, P3D and XP versions within hours of it's release....

Duplicated please delete it

What's so bad about their support? Seems like a pretty complete plane to me, and looks to be working in 2024 just fine. I've been flying it a lot.

PMDG 737 will need Cdplc and Acars Integration with BATC and Sayintentions or it will stay in my 2020 hanger.

I really do hope so but when this was asked, Mathijs referenced a post by Emi that CPDLC wasn’t on 737s which was fairly untrue. Anyway, mathijs used it as an argument that it wasn’t a standard option, ignoring PMDG offers some of the most obscure options for the 737 but that’s neither here nor there.

PMDG was also very abrasive to hoppie hoping to use their ops center instead, whenever that’ll arrive.

Either way, time will tell what actual features we’ll actually get but my hopes aren’t up regarding these features.

The terms "CPDLC" and "Acars Integration" fly way above my head whenever they are mentioned, so I am guessing that I would not miss them

In simple terms for the sim, they allow use of the datalink feature for communication between ATC and the crew. If you have Say Intentions, you can ask for the ATIS and the departure clearance using the COMM screen on the 777, or the AOC menu on the Airbus, all without having to talk to anyone on the mic.

The nicest integration of it I’ve used so far is the PMDG 777, although the inibuilds A340 does a nice job. Oddly Fenix, who are usually all over this stuff don’t offer ATIS from SI or BATC in their AOC menu yet. Hopefully that gets resolved at some point.

CPDLC is essentially a way of text messaging ATC for a select few things like clearances, deviations, altitude changes etc.

ACARS is way via, the MCDU (Not FMS that's just a system accessed by the MCDU), for you to communicate with your airline say for example get your loadsheet, request metars, provide reasoning for delays, get an OFP, do a route uplink etc. AOC is a subset of this but I'm not trying to be super detailed here

I'm obviously wholly simplifying but you get the idea. Aircraft such as (I'm not listing all) Fenix, Leonnardo Maddog, FBW Aircraft, TFDI and more recently PMDG 777 support this to varying levels of fidelity.

Integrating the GSX menu into the tablet would also be a nice feature 🙂

To further expand what Lucky38i said, CPDLC is also nowadays widely used on transoceanic flights, replacing HF radios. Whereever available it is the prefered method of communication with ATC in upper airspace. In lower airspace voice only is and will probably remain standard for the time being.

What a surprise maybe because his company didn’t but many others do. Anything Emi says take with a pinch of salt.

I might have missed it but was there any mention of the new 777 sounds that was suppose to be a few weeks away? I caught the part about the 737 sounds and that 777 development has stopped?

They probably gave up after Boris released his. Typical RSR, announce and never deliver.

Could this be clarified? The Ops Center (currently on version 3) is used to install/maintain the various PMDG add-ons and liveries, as well as providing a way to submit support requests. How would this be related to ACARS, etc.?

Thanks.

Wake me up when the MSFS2024 DC-6 comes out. I'm rapidly losing hope.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.
