November 26, 2025Nov 26 sf_flyer just wanted to flex with his r/w aircraft ownership. A comparison between pricing models of addon aircraft for a sim with cessna fuel caps is obviously unnecessary. Why not compare pricing models of Fenix vs. PMDG or Justflight vs. PMDG?
November 26, 2025Nov 26 1 hour ago, sd_flyer said: I know you guys keep complaining about pricing? LOL Let me break down some cost involving ownership of a small airplane: Lets start with some very inexpensive items: Cessna deluxe towbar $269.00 https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/deluxe_towbars.php?clickkey=12627754 Fuel cap $183.00 https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/cessnaparts8.php?clickkey=231621 Now, let say we want GTN750 NXI $19095.00. This is of course without installation https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/ngar750.php?clickkey=6625130 I don't know about you ,but I would be happy to pay $100+ to have a something that resembles real aircraft. 🙂 Not sure I follow? I don't feel any better about what tires cost me at the track because they are free in the sim... I do like having access to unlimited sets though. At least airplane tires last more than an hour 😂 Not to mention $12-$15/gallon when you are only getting 3 MPG LOL... We actually joke in motor racing the fastest way to become a millionaire is to start with a billion... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

What bearing does the cost of a real plane have here? Im not buying plane addons because I think I’m getting a bargain compared to real life, they’re entirely different experiences, ridiculous comparison. My point is simple we expect simulation as real we can get for a one time fee and think this is expensive . I think back in early days of flight simming people were just happy to have something . Nowadays technology offers so much! I understand this is normal human nature to want more and pay less. I just gave a glimpse of simple stuff in real world that shouldn’t cost that much but unfortunately they do . When it comes to PMDG prices obviously customers have choice to vote with their wallet . I personally think PMDG doesn’t charge high enough given circumstances of economy in US Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). When I buy a car in a racing game for £5 bucks I don’t think, “wow this is so cheap compared to real life! Why isn’t it more expensive?!” I really hope you don’t…. Right?
