  1. Rich, I like PFE and use it quite often but normally fly using Radar Contact. Be aware the there is quite a learning curve with PFE and the install is very involved. Setting up the flight plan is a bit of work but you soon get up to speed with it. Still prefer Radar Contact just because it is so reliable with it's vectoring and the ease of loading a flight plan. ProATC is fine if you let the Co-pilot handle the Comms and fly airliners, but if you have hardware radios and prefer to tune the freqs yourself then it has a bug which does not look like being fixed anytime soon.
  2. No, it installs into its own directory, preferably outside of Program Files (x86) If you do go ahead and buy PFE be sure to also buy the voice expansion pack and download the free PFE voice enhancement pack. No other ATC program provides as many voice sets as PFE, the fact that the accents of the controllers change as you cross country boundaries is great especially for those of us in Europe
  3. Richard, ProATC is geared towards flying airliners utilising sids and stars.
  4. Radar contact uses ICAO phraseology in Europe according to their website. http://www.jdtllc.com/ > Each center is classified as a FAA or ICAO center, resulting in different procedures and phraseology.
  5. My Just Flight account is showing 2.1
  6. You will also need to add the MyTraffic directory to your scenery.cfg preferably between the propeller objects and addon sceney entries in order to take advantage of the updated afcads with more parking spaces ect.
  7. Struggling to understand why you guys buy from PC Aviator when they always seem to be so reluctant to update their downloads. I only buy from Simmarket, always first with updates, clear access to your purchases and serials/registrations Hope my wife never sees my purchased page over there though.
  8. The Flight1 C441 was good in it's day, but that day was a long long time ago. I have both and in my opinion the Flysimware is the better of the two. For some strange reason known only to themselves Flysimware omitted the reflective cockpit windows from their C441 despite having this feature in all their other products and doing it very well. For that reason alone I do not have the aircraft installed any more.
  9. ASN replaces the default weather engine and basically takes over completely, so no need to open the FSX/P3D weather page. If ASN is in live mode you are getting real world weather (or near enough) updated as you fly. If ASN is in Historical mode you can select a date and time in the past and ASN will update that weather as you fly. If ASN is in manual mode you can choose the weather conditions within ASN just as you would in the FSX/P3D weather dialog. Page 9 of the ASN user guide explains it thus: To jump right into ASN, just run the program and take 3 simple steps: 1. Configure your Weather Press the Wx Configuration button to bring up the Wx Configuration Screen. Your current weather mode is shown. Use the Weather Mode dropdown to select your desired mode: . a. Live Live mode provides automatic updates of actual real-time conditions, keeping you in sync with real data at all times . b. Historical In Historical mode, you select the date/time (within the past 2 years) you would like data for, and conditions are automatically and dynamically updated from that point forward . c. Manual Manual mode is OFFLINE and does not automatically update. Once you enter manual mode, the current weather conditions (as last set/downloaded) are activated, and you can then change the conditions as you desire using a simple weather-editing interface.
  10. Better water, better performance, cockpit shadows. Just superior in every way to DX9 but you do need the DX10 fixer, that's the game changer
  11. Basically it is not possible to do a fully accurate C+D in the Carenado Phenom as the necessary functions are not modelled. The Autopilot also does not implement the FLC mode correctly either which is typical of Carenado's lazy approach to coding systems The model looks nice but is not as well simulated as the Feelthere product, not even close. Some folks are happy with just a pretty set of textures though, each to their own.
  12. It's probably best if members do not ask or answer questions about the Estonia migration tool on the Avsim forums. I know from my own experience (a one week suspension) that it can end badly. and so now I stay well away from offering any help with the program.
  13. Ray, If I remember correctly Fsuipc can add a load plan option to the add-ons menu Page 20 of the Fsuipc user guide Provide menu entry for plan loading: in its own Menu system FSX unfortunately only allows loading of Plans from the default location (“My Documents\Flight simulator X Files”). This FSUIPC4 option allows loading of Plans from anywhere within reach of a standard Explorer file selection dialogue. When checked you will find an extra entry in the Add-Ons menu.
  14. Dave, it works but not as designed, without the Audio Environment dll loaded via dll.xml you are not getting the startup and spool down sounds.
  15. Exactly, I would be running XP10 now if it had a fully rounded environment. Its a very sterile environment without good ATC and Ai, give me those two things along with much better weather depiction and I will probably move over from FSX/DX10
  16. That is just plain wrong, sorry They are different versions of the same product, both created by Burkhard renk. MyTraffic 2013 is created by Burkhard and published and supported by Aerosoft and is based on the 5.## series. Mytraffic 6 is the latest version which Burkhard supports directly from his own forum. http://forum.simflight.com/forum/7-mytraffic-support-forum/
  17. Yes it works perfectly, Just make a copy of your existing RC4 folder, create a shortcut to the RC4.exe in that folder then launch RC4 from that shortcut and rebuild the database pointing to your P3D folder just as you would in FS9/FSX. You will need MakeRwys.exe in your P3 folder as usual
  18. On the RC voices page just move the slider under each voice, full left is fastest
  19. If you mean that your AA is much worse then you would be correct, nothing to be done to bring it back to FSX quality other than apply 4xSGAA which will kill your frames with a GTX570
  20. You first need to select VOR2 as your Nav source using the CDI key on the PFD then you can use the Nav rotary to tune NAV2
  21. They would need to buy an OEM disk for Win 7, Win10 they are getting for free. more profit for them. Ask for a discount relative to the cost of a Win7 OEM disk and then install it yourself. Alternatively you could conclude they are trying to mug you off and buy elsewhere.
  22. A while back I asked a simple question in the i-Fly forum over at Flight-1, specifically which was the last version of the 737 before they managed to ruin the gauges with the over the top reflections, an easy one to answer you would have thought. but it was almost as if I had asked them to disclose state secrets. Deleted the product after that exchange and have never bought there again, sometimes I wonder if these support folks realise the damage they can do to the Developers of the products they are trying to support.
  23. PFC have been around for years business must be good because they don't seem to need to cut prices to get sales Spending that much I would feel happier knowing I could get parts for my yoke years down the road, and then there are the great matching PFC throttles to think about.
  24. Of course if you wait 90 days between installs you can use your OEM just fine disk if you rebuild your PC, my first OEM disk has been on three different MB's and two laptops so far , not all at the same time I hasten to add. And Richard is wrong, you do not relinquish your W7 licence after one month in W10, I don't know why he keeps spreading this misinformation.
