  1. The discovery flights have a short shelf life, typically going away after a major update has taken place. Not sure if someone has the actual flight plan, but it's basically a flight leaving from KSWF, flying down the Hudson River, then through NJ, PA, DE, MD and finally ending at KDCA. The aircraft used for the flight was the Cessna Caravan. Here's a link to a youtube video showing the actual flight path in the first 10 to 15 seconds of the video.
  2. Can't add to the planes that have already been pointed out, but really have to throw my support behind @robert young's Turbo Bonanza mod. Had an opportunity years ago to work on one in my college days (for my Airframe/Avionics) and at some point was taken up in one, so have a sweet spot for them. Also, it's Robert Young!!!
  3. Nice shots Steve! Dallas was sort of my second home for about 20 years due to work. I actually kind of miss it. Certainly do miss Esparza's. Every now and then they would slip Everclear in your margarita's, probably still do. I'm thirsty now. 🍹
  4. Thanks for the heads up. Was waiting for this sale and curious about this too Benjamin. However the 767 even at $79 (after the $20) is still prohibitive for me, just because I'm trying to upgrade the old PC. I do want to get the 757 Freighter expansion. I put the forum post for peeps to see. Captains, Goodbye 2020 sale (all* Base Packs are $20 off) starts at 2020Z 20DEC 2020. Runs for 20 hours only. See you at https://www.captainsim.com/store/ * all with regular price over $20.
  5. Sort of looks like you went on a bombing run Steve. Definitely a great perspective!
  6. SSAA is a killer, but one thing that has really helped me to tame this setting is to purchase a 4K monitor to mitigate the need for such a setting. Cost prohibitive I'm sure, but sort of a cure nonetheless. A 1080Ti can handle anything above 2X SSAA, but you will need to sacrifice other aspects of your graphics settings to achieve a good balance.
  7. I'm surprised no one commented on @Damian Clark's quote here. For this very reason is why HIFI needs to join the fray.
  8. Agree, but the cadence of MSFS updates are of a much higher frequency versus the P3D or XPlane quarterly or bi-annual ones. I'm certain it would be tough to keep up with.
  9. Great poll question and looking forward to the responses. I'm also with you on option 2. I went into this knowing full well it will take years before this sim meets it's ultimate potential.
  10. I run a 32" 4k Monitor with a 1080 Ti. The sim works better at native resolution, but I turn down the scaling to 70 or 80 and works fine. I average around 50 FPS outside of large cities, 30 FPS inside large cities mostly on high settings, no medium or low settings at all.
  11. Actually a great read and although I take Aerosoft's comments about MSFS with a grain of salt since they kind of do have a vested interest on how well the platform does (what @G-RFRY said), some of what Mathis says does ring true for me at least. The moment we had confirmation that MSFS2020 was going to drop this year, I immediately stopped buying add-ons for P3D. Then again, I have a ton already anyway. I'm sure if I were to add up all the money spent supporting P3D and third-party developers, it would probably amount to $5K plus easily. I don't want to speak for all P3D users, but when you use that platform, more than likely you are a discerning type of simmer who is willing to invest in the experience. Once MSFS dropped and we saw the fidelity that a modern Flight Sim was capable of, I'm sure there are quite a few of serious P3D simmers started asking themselves some questions like; is investing that type of money in one sim sustainable? Yes, I still fly P3D, but I will not invest another penny into it.
  12. IMHO, this is a pretty crappy sale. It's a pass for me, but thanks for the heads up.
  13. That undulating runway in the 10th shot, my goodness!
  14. That is awesome! Not at all surprised that someone was able to do this with an A-10. Truly an underrated aircraft that continues to stand the test of time.
  15. Speed tape fixes everything! Great shots Simeon!
  16. Steve, beautiful set! I have some fond memories of Cody from my visit in 2014. Too bad my perspective was only from the ground and my occasional hike up the surrounding Yellowstone Mountains.
  17. Nice shot! Assuming this is St. Barts?
