YouTube users hate me - what to do?
GrahamBu replied to rspring94's topic in Aviation and Flight Sim Video Forum
Ah, YouTube comments. Along with CNN comments really make for the ***hole of the internet. -
For the phonetic alphabet, play the license plate game. Whenever you are out and see a car, try to read out its license phonetically (assuming where you live isn't all numerical :-p) When I started flight training my classmates and I would do this on the way to and from the airport. Soooo dorky! But once you learn it it becomes second nature, so it's not something worth worrying about as a barrier to flying online.

Except it's forbidden in the UAE AIP. Of course this is FS so politics need not apply! Yay! Can't wait for this scenery!

Cool shots. It hasnt rained in Vancouver in so long, I've forgotten what rain looks like! :-p

I might order this sometime. I wonder why the developer chose to use a serial cable, though? (I know there are adaptors!) On an unrelated note, I flew earlier this month on an E190 and the iPad's GPS receiver actually worked in the cabin the whole flight with great accuracy. We were smack on the filed route in Jepp FD. Usually I can't get a signal in a tubeliner without an external antenna input.

The real databases cost a small fortune for worldwide coverage. We should be thankful we can get these databases so cheaply! Graham B

Eaglesoft Citation X 2.0 - SID/STAR Problem
GrahamBu replied to SirStiggie's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Based on your screenshot, I'd say the first instance of "MLY" may be the problem. You could try deleting it prior to takeoff and see what happens. The 293* course to it does not make sense with reference to the chart. Im 700 nm from my C750 installation at the moment, so I can't load it up and test it out. In all honesty though, Navdata is not always perfect, even in the real databases that cost many multiples more than the Navigraph stuff. I'd probably just fly this procedure raw data and autopilot off until turned back to MLY as it's pretty simple procedure, and the Eaglesoft X is very pleasant to hand fly. -
Eaglesoft CJ1 FMS-Autopilot Coupling (or lack of)
GrahamBu replied to planenut's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hey Ron, this is off topic, but could you, or somebody from ES activate my new support forum account please. (grahamb3) B) -
Lots of nice stuff coming! I bought a new PC about this time last year with the intent of installing FSX. I still have not even tried to install it because I enjoy FS9 too much!!! I've completed every single flight without any crashes of the software. I'm scared to move to FSX for fear of its instability! haha

New freeware scenery for Boryspil International Airport (UKBB)

It's really nice. I think I'll fly my private jet over for the Euro final :) -
Flight planning software, Which one to get?
GrahamBu replied to Jcannon's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Get a one month free trial at uvflightplanner.com and hope PFPX is out by then. :-p -
It will be nice to see some competition. I'm glad Lufthansa is allowing Aerosoft to use its data! My main hope is for better coverage of Canadian airports. Outside of the majors, Canada is somewhat barren in the Navigraph adaption of the Navtech database. I just hope Aerosoft covers the same range of addons, including older releases that aren't tubeliners. ;)

Fltplan.com's app is nice if you fly ga and/or corporate stuff in North America. Free charts for Canada and US, and they are constantly adding new features JeppFD is nice, but only good with a subsrciption $$$ Sporty's E6B And like Zane, I would love to see a way to connect position info from FS into JeppFD! I would pay 9.99 for that! Haha

The only thing I remember about my one flight in the 146 is how bloody smooth the landing was!

Dramatic Loss of FPS after 10 minutes
GrahamBu replied to rightseat's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
I had a similar problem when I first loaded FS9 on a new machine. In my case, I believe it was a memory leak caused by the incorrect installation of the FS 9.1 patch. Sounds simple, but it might be worth checking out. -
This may make me finally install FSX! I've always wanted a 350! Better dust off my FSX DVD lol. :)

Would you like to see more Business Jet in FSX?

Would you like to see more Business Jet in FSX?
GrahamBu replied to Caribpilot's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I've been aching for a Global series aircraft for a while. I love the C750, but I'd like something that can make western N. America to Europe and Asia without multiple fuel stops and is not a BBJ. :) -
Eaglesoft Cessna Citation 2.0 FSX Owners Question
GrahamBu replied to idahosurge's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Read through this for some performance specs:http://textron.vo.llnwd.net/o25/CES/cessna_aircraft_docs/citation/x/x_fpg.pdf -
I have to recommend the Eaglesoft Citation X V2. It's very fast, very fun, can go 3000 nm if you want it to (Not at M.92 though!) and you can get it in and out of smaller airfields. 5000' runways are easy, 4000' is doable with a light plane but the departure will be field limited.

Do you have a router? Is UPnP disabled in your router?

I did this route over the last month. I didn't fly an NG, but all the legs would be manageable for one.http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=ksjc-mggt-spim-sllp-spim-tncm-lpaz-lebl-lipz-lcph-htkj-vrmm-vtsp-vmmc-rjbb-rjcc-panc-kmry

Flight times
GrahamBu replied to SEGerfen's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support Forum
I can confirm the winds aloft are very accurate. I just did a months virtual trip around the world and almost all my flight times were less than 5 minutes deviation (The nerd in me wants to go and calculate the mean and SD for the trip :-P) for the flight plans I computed for the trips. Some were computed up to 18 hours ahead of time using forcast winds. Fuel burn was also very close with the Eaglesoft Citation X. I have access to a major commerical flight planning system, so ASE was in line with the predictions in the flight plans I computed. The only thing I wish for is higher resolution over the oceans, but it sounds like AS2012 has this. :)
