  1. I saw a suggestion here once that slewing your heading by one degree somehow resets the ATC. I think it was in the context of requesting a new departure after taxiing to the gate. Might work for your issue.
  2. When you say 'better' do you mean in terms of flight dynamics or visuals? I recall that RealAir released a replacement airfile for the default Cessna, and you could google Metzger's airfile too. Both of these would improve the handling.
  3. Perhaps, but about 182 of those posts are reasoned and polite responses from the developer, with explanations and offers of assistance.
  4. Did you need the disk space? Why not have them both? It's not a marriage Takes so long to get a FSX install looking how I want it that I'd don't think I could actually bring myself to remove it!
  5. Maybe the Just Flight Duchess? Sent from my HTC_PO582 using Tapatalk
  6. Are you using a separate axis for nose wheel steering? Ie are you using the rudder pedals to taxi?
  7. Hi, what do you mean by 'doesn't work'. When I installed last week I thought initially it didn't work because the rotating planes in the free flight menu looked atrocious. But in-game was fine.
  8. Tom, do us Tap a Talk users generate revenue for the site like those using a standard browser? If not, shouldn't we be? You gotta make money for the service avsim provides.
  9. Ok thanks Alex. I'm getting tired of doing the east coast airports so might be time for me to head a bit west!
  10. Great shots! Is that the new Adelaide just released? How do you like it?
  11. Ah, OK thanks Brian. I find it great to use too but haven't tried the auto routing.
  12. Hi Wayne, I have a three monitor setup but it occurs to me that you may find the monitor bezels in a two-monitor setup run down the middle of most VCs. Haven't tried it but might be worth some investigation before you commit. Paul
  13. Hi, I thought the classification also depended on the likelihood of significant wake turbulence, eg 757. Perhaps that's what's going on with the 787?
  14. I was in a similar situation and opted for a new video card with Surround. How much price difference is there between another 580 + triple head and a 680 roughly? One constraint on the Surround side is finding multiple monitors with the same refresh rate and polarity. Not sure if this is a constraint for a triple head setup too. Oh and I read somewhere that graphics card RAM can be an issue for multiple monitor setups so chk out whether Sli'd 580s would be fine in that department.
  15. Hi, I've noticed this too, especially at Melbourne. Can't recall it being as bad at my other orbx airports (Canberra, Wollongong).
  16. Same here, had to get a new copy of Windows after switching the motherboard and cpu. If you have to go to the trouble of reinstalling Windows then consider putting it on a SSD to reduce boot times.
  17. Very nice. I think the -200 looks better than the NG. The smaller engines suit the rest of the plane better. Is the OzJet shot at Orbx YMML?
  18. I find it a strange position for them to take. I know the flight sim community is small but in terms of brand awareness I don't see why they don't want to reach a passionate aviation audience. Who knows how many current and future aviation industry decision-makers are in our ranks? Maybe they're worried about quality but I think a poor fsx model reflects on the software developer and not the RW aircraft manufacturer. No one whinges about Cessna when they can't get the default 172 to spin properly.
  19. "Caution wake turbulence"
  20. Great shots. Beautiful craft and love the cloud textures too.
  21. Wow so there's a Texture_Max_Load and a TextureMaxLoad? I better chk which one I tweaked in my config...
  22. You could infer which runway heading you'll be assigned at your destination by looking at the weather at your destination prior to departure. Typically you'll be landing into the wind. Are you using a weather add on or live weather updates of some sort?
  23. Wow, tough crowd in the NGX forums. Hope I don't ever have to ask a question.
