PMDG Shows a lil' bit o' leg....

Recommended Posts

I wish it was the Dreamliner however it appears to be the Dreamlifter... Maybe the ugliest plane created so far...The only reason I would buy that freak would be an improved 747 cockpit (say v2)But thanks Capt. Robert!

I suspect this will be in the same vein as the -8, and it will probably be very nice, but I would really hope that there might be a matching air file realeased for it. This thing just does not fly the same way as a 747-4. The -8 is bad enough, but can you really see this thing loaded to the gills and still climbing at over 3,000 ft per second and cruising at .87mach?

I thought the Dreamlifter was just a modified -400? So wouldn't that mean it's just the -400 cockpit guys? Am I right? I couldn't find any pictures of the cockpit. My guess this is a visual upgrade and that's it.[EDIT] I found some info on boeing's site. "The Boeing Dreamlifter is a modified 747-400 passenger airplane that can haul more cargo by volume than any airplane in the world. It is the primary means of transporting major assemblies of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from suppliers around the world to the 787 final assembly site in Everett, Wash. This reduces delivery times to as little as one day from as many as 30 days today."My guess is still its just a visual upgrade

My guess would be a visual model only, otherwise I don't think it would be coming out this summer. But ya never know.

What a shame.Possibly yet another exterior over a -400 interior.I guess we'll find out soon enough.Goran

Not really a shame, I'm sure this will be exciting for many simmers, for me not so much as I rarely leave the VC. But it does look interesting

Considering that's what the real aircraft actually is, I don't know what you're expecting. It's the same cockpit and the same performance as a loaded 400, that comes straight from Boeing. There is more to this product than just a visual model, you'll find out more in due time.
Would have been nice to have had a 787.
How do you suppose we do that when the real aircraft isn't even certified yet? ;)

I am amazed that this bird can haul more freight by volume than the big Antonov... Is that because of the diameter, height or length? I would think diameter and height but I could be way off. Interesting Trivial Pursuit answer though ;)Can't wait to see how PMDG model this bird, she is certainly unique!-Paul
