Long live freedom of speech!! If the initiator of this topic doesn't like it because he has bad experiences with some products than that does not mean you dont have to like it either..Some of us like Feelthere and Wilco products and have good experience with it and some of us dont like the products. As for myself, well, Wilco products for FSX are truly the most buggy unsolved pieces of crapp ever made for flight simulator on my system. As far feelthere counts, well, their embrears hold on fine and I used to love flying their cessna but since they are linked with Wilco I will never buy products again from both a them. That does not mean I will ask other people to boycot them.Regards
You won't buy a Feelthere product because Wilco sells it? lol

You do realise Feelthere and Wilco no longer have sweet FA to do with one another, don't you?

Cheers, Andy.

It seams with the conversion of the new forum my message went mixed up with the OP his first line left over so I deleted that line... and my original content is lost :( so going to check more messages if all went ok?I can understand where you're coming from Darryl but as I stated to call for a boycott is far over the top and just impolite to all those folks .It's still a labor of love and a lot of hours...Does this mean you can't vent your opinion of course you can but sometimes a developer decides for different valid reasons they can't do it .It leaves you with a few options for example:- Edit the textures yourself and share with your fellow simmers- Ask the developer- Don't buy the product- etc..

I have Feelthere PIC 737, ERJ-170/190 and ERJ-13X/14X. My personal opinion that those products are next to LDS/PMDG on the level of complexity and overall performance. Two small things (not bugs)1.gdi-plus CTD can be fixed by reversing to old Nvidia 182.xx drivers. 2. Some textures problems are due to lack of alpha-channel that can be easily fixed by downloading DTXBMP editor and fixing these textures. But this problem refers to McPhat folks, not Feelthere Other than that - the products are superb.Aaaaa....competely forgot to mention that I was talking about FS2004. :(

Nobody is trying to silence the OP. Avsim members are free to speak on pretty much any matter they care to choose, so long as it is relevant and the tone remains civil and the content reasonable.Issuing a call for the boycotting of a company's entire range of products based on slight disappointment with some textures is hardly what I would call reasonable, and clearly I'm not the only one who thinks that is the case, judging by the replies.Al

At the same moment, I'm still waiting for a second patch from PMDG for JS4100 which will fix the textures flickering and graphics corruption, because this is the thing that really spoils the product for me, no matter I'm flying day or night. So don't put PMDG as an example, every product in the FSX world has it's issues that don't get fix from the developers.
You can fix that by selecting the medium models in the config program - the issue wouldn't have even come up had we not caved to customer demand to place (unrealistic) windshield rain effects in the VC. The issue is some sort of overload within FSX itself, not anything with the model - most users don't see the issue.

Let's just hope McPhat and FeelThere did their homework this time....if they don't, then it is simple as this: I'll never buy any of their products again. Regards,Dave

After all, this is a democratic forum,I take it?
No, it is not. Whatever gave you that idea? AVSIM is like being invited to be a guest at someone's house. Out of respect for the home owner, there are certain proprieties to be observed.Everyone here agreed to the TOS when they created their account. Like it or not we are now obligated to abide by the "house rules."

I have also just bought the Wilco 777 for FSX,and quite frankly I feel I wasted my money on it even if I got it for less than what my PMDG and Level-D fleet each cost.
the wilco/feelThere 777 IS A SIMPLIFIED SIMULATION that is not designed to be like the feelthere/wilco 737, ERJ v1, Ejet v1, CX, or legacy or the feelThere ERJs v2 and Ejets v2. the 777 is 'fleet' product for 'lite' or beginner simmers that don't want to spend time with pre-flight and other complicated systems to just start the engines.there are two 'fleet' wilco/feelThere products - CRJ and 777. DO NOT EXPECT high levels of real-world simulation from these product ... they were NOT DESIGNED to be 'high fidelity sims'. feelThere has always been clear about this. wilco places the 'lite' discription on their sales pages.if you choose to puchase something that clearly states that is does not simulate all systems and then are upset that those systems are not simulated who is wrong? the seller that stated UP FRONT the system wasn't simulated? or the buyer that chooses to expect it all when told, clearly, 'all' isn't provided.FYI -- PMDG has been 'bit' by this complaint with the 1900. you will notice that PMDG hasn't release another 'lite' product. i personally have enjoyed 100s of hours in the 1900 BECAUSE it is a quick and easy plane to load and fly. i'm sure the PMDG staff has spent many an hour hitting their head on their desktop because of the 'lite' complaints ... just as feelThere/wilco have for the 777 and CRJs.--

And their support is no better if waiting more than 15 days for response is called support
whom is 'their' support?the longest i've been 'away' from the feelThere forums is 8 days back in june of '09. besides this 'break' for a VACATION, what non-rant support question on the feelThere forums has gone 'unanswered' for 15 days? ... i can't think of more than a dozen that have gone 'unanswered' for more than a long weekend.--

Why should one or even a few dissatisfied customers feel that they have a "right" to call for a boycott of a commercial devs products in any forum be it public or private?? :( There was an interesting thread in hanger chat forum about six months ago which spoke to the fantasy that the "customer is always right".If I recall, that thread went into great detail on why the customer is "not always right".Brow beating devs or calling for boycott is indeed "over the top".

Not on the avsim forums.... :(
Interesting-yet freedom of speech is rampant in this thread. We pretty much let anything go as long as it doesn't degrade to insults to fellow simmers, developers, or threads that put Avsim in jeopardy of lawsuits. Add multiple account users trying to influence things in a clandestine and unfair way...I don't view it as much different than in the real world in countries that allow freedom of speech. You still can't yell fire in a crowded place when there is not one, and you generally can't use profanity in public places. This thread also illustrates what I like to call the ultimate control from the mods-none.Most threads self correct by themselves given a chance-this one seems to be doing so.It is only the rare ones that for reasons that seem to be coordinated with full moons go rapidly out of control...and for some reason things always calm down in the summer (better weather=better moods?!).
