August 6, 201015 yr Hi Mike,I have held off buying any addon airport scenery as I have been afraid of performance degradation, what is your experience with FSDT product? Sure looks great.Robert just download the file it lets you try out the scenery for about 5min I think after that the buildings and all the detail are gone but it gives you a good idea on frame rates usually fsdt try there best to get the best performance out. August 7, 201015 yr Hi Mike,I have held off buying any addon airport scenery as I have been afraid of performance degradation, what is your experience with FSDT product? Sure looks great. This is an HONEST observation after downloading it and spending about an hour flying in/around DFW tonight.......I actually get BETTER performance than with the default or FRF versions of KDFW!I'm SUPER pleased! Well worth the money! I personally think that it's the best effort yet by FSDreamTeam (or anyone else for that matter).gwillmot
August 7, 201015 yr I got it and love. I am having some sticking, but I'm going to try some hardware tweaks. Best version of D/FW ever.
August 7, 201015 yr Very nice...some stuttering about 3-5nm from the airport as 1024 detailed textures build (this with an I7 965/oc'd to 3.8Ghz and 8GB OCZ DDR3 RAM/Nvidia GTX 285)...FSDT forum has a pinned texture resize download batch file that will convert the 1024 texture to 512. I ran it and the textures white out. I will work with FSDT to resolve. I think FSDT did the same with Honolulu which works perfectly for me.Incredible detail and well worth the $33...once I get the resize sorted.Rich Perry
August 7, 201015 yr Well worth the wait and price. Another FSDT winner. Should complement the MD11 and maddog a/c in my hangar. R9-9950X3D 32G | RTX5090 | 3T m.2 | Win11 | vkb-gf ultimate & pedals | virpil cm3 throttle | tm boeing yoke | pimax super uw | DCS
August 7, 201015 yr [...] I actually get BETTER performance than with the default or FRF versions of KDFW! [...]Naaa, I don't believe it! It would be fantastic, absolute to try! Anyway, I trust on the great job of those guys to create awesome huge airports with a frame rate friendly strategy. Hope so also for Dallas...Thanks. Bye.RR Capt. Anyway, I trust on the great job of those guys to create awesome huge airports with a frame rate friendly strategy. Hope so also for Dallas...Thanks. Bye.RR I emphasized that it was an HONEST observation.....and still holds this morning as I'm flying around DFW. Your results may vary and you may chose to believe or not believe. If I remember correctly, there were some comments in the FSDT forum in the past about new, more efficient methods being used on the KDFW project. It appears to have paid off. By the way, I'm also using MegaCity Dallas with the FSDT airport and my frame rates in the area ARE improved. I guess my system just didn't care for the default and FRF scenery.gwillmot

It's mostly caused by missing alpha channels in DXT3 textures. If you add the missing alpha, most of the stutters should be gone. Can't speak for DFW, haven't bought it yet, but nearly all other FSDT sceneries have had this issue. Here's some more on the subject: http://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=8581.0 Cheers, Mack i7 950 @ 4Ghz :Apogee XT waterblock: EVGA X58 Classified :EK full-cover waterblock: Feser X-Changer 360: 3 x GTX 570 (Tri-SLI): EK full-cover waterblocks : Thermochill PA 120.2: 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz RAM (stock speeds) : FS9 & FSX @ 1920x1080 on Windows 7 x64

August 7, 201015 yr As much as fsdt optimized the airport for performance. it will still suffer it depending on your hardware. due to the fact that its a huge airport and the amount of traffic.
