How are they shipped to Germany and what are the costs?

Hans,Well Australia is about as far awat from the US as anyone and I ordered the Chief Pilots Set and the shipping cost was an additional US$98.15. Expensive yes but I am sure that it will be worthwhile. (Just as well for me that the Australian dollar is almoat at parity with the green back.)I would imagine that to Germany the cost will be somewhat less.Neil Bradley

A little confused how you got it at that price for all of the manuals including the MD?when i estimate shipping costs to uk for just the 737 chief pilots set, I get two prices of EMS at 85.15 dollars and priority main at 67.95 dollars..The manual price I feel a little high, but happy to pay but grives me to pay a shipping cost that high(i flew to washington for less than that last month!)Chris does the shipping price come down when you actually confirm the order, is it just the estimating popup over pricing it?Regards

As a college student who has spent absurd amounts of money on textbooks, these complaints about cost are just laughable.

This was over 10-yrs ago - I was in contact with TRI who was developing the Fly! simulator. They asked me to research for them the cost of complete set of manuals for the Hawker 800XP which they were developing (this is a mid size business jet). To make the long story short - the best they could get this set of manuals was for around $2500 and like I said it was over 10 years ago and it was not a 737 and the total number of pages was much less than this 737 kit. The price offered by PMDG is really cheap by any standard, even by standard of college textbooks which are printed in mass quantities.

It's also cheap compared to the cost of building your own NG simulator. In fact, the cost of these manuals is but a drop in the bucket in the overall component cost of building, and you'll need these manuals to operate the simulator once finished.Manuals for older aircraft such as mine are easier to find as these jets are phased out of service, but try finding a current set of NG, 757, or 767 manuals on the open market without raising eyebrows. Most of them get sold within the community and never see the open market. When they do surface they're at least as much if not more than these NG manuals. That's if you can find a complete set.

Was checking the price yesterday and just rechecked. There was a USPS and a FEDEX price (which was cheaper to businesses). The FEDEX price no longer appears for some reason, hence only the more expensive USPS shipping.Phillip Speer(still unregarded regarding the purchase)

I'm with Alex P. The cost of one 800 page college science textbook is approx. $110. PMDG is selling the REAL and OFFICIAL manuals for a $72-80 million dollar Boeing 737-800 (cost from Boeing web site).If you were to go get a 737-NG type rating at a reputable training facility (e.g. FlightSaftey, etc.) you would get the exact same manuals with their logo on the front instead of PMDG. Ohh by they way it would cost you around $20,000 USD for a Boein 737-NG type rating.FYI. I talked with a B757 United captain (Pre- 911) he had to pay United to $1,200 / hour to have his "in flight" wedding to charter the plane. I assumed this was the in house compnay rate.While, people want thing for nearly free. I consider the acquisition cost of the PMDG 737-NG with the Check airmane's Flight manuals with COLOR QHR to be a very minimal cost given the Extreme fidelity of both the PMDG simulation and the real aircraft manuals.I had a failed commerical pilot carreer thanks in most part to 911. I'm still paying back $50k in student and flight training loans.

Hi,It says ordered on 12/05/2010, no tracking number. I'm not worried, it will get here when it gets here.

Well, the manuals are heavy and you do live far from the States...

Yay! Mine shipped on the 7th and left Indianapolis last night (UK time), should be here tomorrow..... when I'm not in :( Should have them for the w/e though :(

No need to complain about getting the manuals shipped a long way, chances are they will end up on a 737 at some point because of that, and that'll mean they are a bit more authentic LOLAl
