In my case (Corei7-930 @3.9) and 580GTX it is better than FPS Limiter 0.2 because stutters 70% gone.I have 2 screen and normally I use FSX in window mode on my 22" screen. (FSX tweaked by ******* recommends)Thanks *******.Regards

For those of you wanting/wishing/trying to run ENB with the new/alternative limiter - see the first 2 posts in this thread for the instructions on how to be able to use both:http://www.kegetys.n...hp?topic=2097.0I can confirm that the limiter does work with ENB using this method (ignore my earlier post as the original download links do work...it was my download manager that the links did not like!!)RegardsSteve

Thanks a bunch, Steve! I´ll test it right away.

After a short test I can say that is does not work as supposed. I tried to limit it at 30 FPS but my frames are jumping from low the 20-ies to the mid-40-ies, so no limitation at all.

Best regards, Steffen

SteffenThats strange as my frames jump like that when using the Java based limiter, but when using the Zegetysnew/alternative limiter I have minimal movement (from 28-32 fps when locked at 30) and this is what provides the smoother experience for me!!).I am yet to be totally convinced that it is 100% stable though, as I did have the "disable pre-render issue/lock ups, and I also think in heavy scenery/autogen/AI that the Java limiter actually may be more useful just by the fact the the "limit" appears a little more "relaxed".The jury is still out and i'm still testing but sorry it didn't appear to work for you.RegardsSteve

I tried the limiter with the ENB fix posted and I got blurries that would not go away or recover even when pausing the sim. I agree with you about this limiter seems to be a bit more "relaxed" as you put it. What I dont understand though is that there is already a pre-render we can set thru the NVIDIA CP so what good is the additional one?Jim

Made a short flight and steady at 30fps in windowed and full screen. Normally I use the older external limiter so will try this one a bit more. Changing from windowed to full screen give me 1 freeze (no hang up) Hitting the taskmanager (because I thought it was a hang-up) brought back the screen and after that I can switch as much as I want netween windowed/fullscreen without any problem/freeze. Works also perfect with 3D Vision. No stutters for me.Happy landings...

Did anybody manage to solve the issue of the black screens when switching between windowed and full screen?

Super smooth compared to FPS_Limiter, but similar problem when switching modes, except for me there's no black screen, and FSX ultimately crashes.*******, have you had any luck contacting the developer and asking for the source or a fix?

I just installed ENB series mod... There are two settings that are interesting, ForceDisplayRefreshRate and DisplayRefreshRateHzIf I set them as follows:ForceRefreshRate=1RefreshRateHz=30I seems to work as a frame limiter as I am pegged at 30 FPS even in areas where I would get higher display rates, and it's super smooth (better than antilag, and way better than FPS_Limiter). This works with my GTX570 connected to an LG 1080p TV set to Just Scan. There seems to be one negative. There appears to be a slight input lag. However, I solved this by using ENB proxy to antilag but with antilag FPS limiter disabled.Has any used this technique before? Can someone else try and report whether they experience similar results?

I'm sorry to go a bit offtopic, but I read about people suddenly having alt-tab problems.I've had alt-tab problems since the day I started using FSX. I've had the same problem for years now, on 3 different computers with different OS.I can never alt-tab back into FSX, because it'll just stick to the background or stay black. I have to first click on FSX in the taskbar, then quickly alt-tab to FSX. Then it works.Very annoying, but I thought this was normal?? (Since I have it on every single FSX install on every single PC?!)

Me too, so I just use alt-enter. :(

Just tried this. Subjectively, there are less "micro-stutters" and a more even, steady framerate than with the Java application. But it's hard to tell without doing a more scientific comparison. I got it to work with ENB no problems.Obviously, if your settings are not appropriate for your system, you'll get a low framerate, and stuttering. But I'm getting the micro stutters over areas where the framerate is *too high*, like over forest or water. If I fly in over a detailed airport or city, I get a lower overall framerate, but it's more stable with none of the small micro-stutters or lurches. How does the RenderAheadLimit in the .cfg work in conjunction with the "maximum pre-rendered frames" in Nvidia Inspector? Would it be possible to set both to a higher value like 4 and that way always keep a small buffer of frames that are ready to be displayed without any of the stuttering? The only drawback that I can see is that everything in the sim would always be 4 frames "behind". So if you're only getting 15 FPS, for example, what you see on the screen actually happened 0.27 seconds ago.. but that should be fine for most flying..
