Not even with the exceedingly high gloss McPhat textures. (Yes Ryan, I say this just to get under your skin. mwaahaha )
I actually think they'll do some pretty amazing things with the insane texture resolution we've allowed for here...

First off, I know this sounds nitpicky but can we please try to stop calling the EGPWS "terrain radar"? That isn't what it is
No, it sounds too gentle, I would ask people to hammer this notion of 'terrain radar' out of their heads, use a big rubber hammer if necessary :( . Terrain radar can be found for example on a B-52, I was even working on its simulation while employed by Singer-Link. No commercial airliner ever had anything remotely similar. By the way, the proper name for this device on B-52 was ground-mapping radar.

Yep, military aircraft are basically the only ones that have true ground radar. The B-1B for instance uses synthetic aperture radar to feed its terrain following autopilot mode. They can actually fly nap of the earth in pitch darkness using this... I believe RAF Tornados have a similar system.

A lot of people seem to be playing the "try and outsmart the team by asking technical questions about the NGX" game. So I'll go ahead and see if I can get a high score. :( If you hop in the NGX and fly it in ice cold weather, think we could manipulate the dynamic fluid system and see the fuel lines freeze, shutting down the engines? What about flying on really hot, high humidity, high altitude area's - think we can suffocate the engine?[As an aside, I was poking light-hearted fun with my above comment. No-one in their right mind would willingly insult what PMDG and the community have done here!]

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Anyone know what the numbers are under "TERR" on the NAV display? 033 and 020. You can see them clearly around 60 seconds in to the video.

I know the fuel certainly freezes in the MD11 so I think it would be fairly safe to assume that it will in the NGX, given all the modeling they seem to have put into the air system...

Guys this is amazing! Thumbs up to all the team !Only one detail : isn't the "DO NOT WALK INSIDE THIS AREA" missing on the wings ?Greg

too much, too soon....

I am speechless at this update. I think this is the best aircraft add-on I have seen for flight sim. Great job guys. Look forward to more screens.

I think I'm becoming a PMDG-o-phile...Give me my medicine (read as: "give me more screenshots") :-)She's looking gorgeous...

Our F-111's (now retired) had this, along with the ability to fly at Mach 2+ just a few hundred feet from the ground at night in any weather.

It's PNW - we certainly would not be opposed to ORBX doing it though - a "Boeing Airports" pack of RNT, BFI and PAE would be awesome I think personally. Here's a bit of a better shot that shows off the airport scenery:[Pic removed]Oh, and there's some nice wing details visible there too... tongue.gif
Shot of the airport he says, when the excruciating detail of the wing of the long-awaited NGX is to be seen in all of its glory too tongue.gif I'm very happy to see this detail here. I was disappointed with the lack of it in the MD-11's wing. But this... Phew. This just looks amazing!

If the steel brakes loses effectiveness when overheated, but the carbon doesn't, what is the advantage with the steel?
DarrylTwo words: Cheaper.Okay that was one word... Saved you 50%!!!

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

You can find us at:  http://forum.pmdg.com

I doubt this is possible given that you have only so many polygons you can use (did I get that right?), but will the NGX have visible passengers like the JS4100?
