Thanks.. This is getting way more in-depth than my Human Performance ATPL book is! tongue.gifI stand corrected.. But I was close! Nerd.gif
I think facts are just getting confused.. You're both right. The eye can register frames at a much higher rate, but 24fps (25 in PAL) is enough for the brain to register the illusion of motion from a series of still images. Film, yes 35mm projected actual film, is running at 24fps in North America and 25fps every where else (aprox), when you get into video and television, its the same principal (speed) just different was of counting (timecode - dropped frames so they can get more commercial time).A quick basic example. :)In theory 24fps would be the minimum for you to experience smooth motion ( of perfectly generated, images) but as cpu's are handling so much, a higher frame rate would be preferable. Bests, and great work on the NGX, personally looking forward to the 777 (ACA Flyer) but still a great plane to add to the hanger. MattHarroldPs. I do work in film sound, if you guys need a hand or anything fx mastering, mixing wise, please let me know. I know nothing of programming, heh, or how you operate, just throwing it out there.
will the emergency slides be included? :(
I certainly wish, that I had the same problems some of you guys do have. And while I am at it, I hope they serve the same tomato juice brand I always drink when flying.Amen!Anyway, nice job done by the PMDG Team. If the systems show as much precision as the external model, I guess only the real 737 cockpit can top the NGX.Christian M

I seriously doubt that PMDG will start to sell a product that doesnt exist yet like Airsimmer did. It's highly unlikely
No no no no no... That was never the point, exactly like DCS did with the A-10, once the product has entered beta then sell it on the basis of that. So if people choose they can buy the beta product with the expectation that it is not finished and they can contribute to the final issue. Those who want the finished product can wait. It would stop the many "when is this going to be released" threads and comments.Ian Tyldesley

I just asked since they have said that everything will be modeled. I can't understand why that should be a problem for you.:(

PMDG has already stated they would not sell a product in any other state than complete - they also explained that other companies like the ones mentioned do this to help finance development. What PMDG is doing is fine - at least you know you are getting something complete. On to another subject - I've seen numerous questions and answers regarding the new technology and limitations of FSX. Has PMDG followed the same path as A2A with building certain aspects outside of FSX and using Sim Connect to bridge the two? One more question I seen conversation regarding the lighting and it coming on as it rotates downward. I completed my first night flight last night in the new A2A spitfire and seen that they have successfully accomplished such effect. The light housing sits tucked up in the wing and when switched on it rotated out. Then the pilot has the ability to change the angle that the light is focused because the aircraft is a tail dragger. I know the lynce mob will chime in shortly after reading this, so I'll say it for them. The two types of aircraft are different - i understand that. I'm asking in regards to the coding and effects created by the developer. One last question - when developing these aircraft and finding ways to go beyond the initial program (FSX) design; is this something that developers such as PMDG attend seminars hosted by Microsoft to discuss. Or is this stuff that is stumbled upon by trial and error? If it is the later of the two - I would think that more communication between the major add-on developers would be in the best interest for the whole community and each company. Sure there is culture of its our technology and so forth. But if everyone is bringing something to the party and it saves each developer time in development and reduces cost - why not? After all you don't have to provide every detail. Thanks,

pmdg stated more than once that its a work in progress screenshot, the aircraft is still under developmentmichaelknittl

OMG these pics are jawdropping <-- Ok i'm some pages late ^.^First I'd like to comment on what kind of sensation these pics give me: Imagine you're going to choose a bank to guard your money, and one of these banks start to show youwhere your money will be, the 30 highly-trained "moneyguards" that will be around your lock 24-7, the hungry rotwaillers waiting for some fresh meat at the door, the machineguns activated by some uncommon ocasion, the hidden bazooka behind that door... (Enough, I think I made it clear hehe) and when you are almost signing the contract to setup everything the manager says that he forgot to mention you'll have a full-time bodyguard and then introduces you to some Scarlett Johanson look a like, who smiles to you andlick her lips sexily Drooling.gif Sorry about that hehe, but the point I'm trying to get is the sensation of putting my money in the rightest place ever!! And more and more it makes me bemore sure of it!!!Ok, complements said, I'd like to ask Ryan or Robert about some effects not related with the plane itself. What causes me to do it is because of the affirmation that you guys gaveabout the limit of effects been reached. So will be included things like vortex on the wingtips or the vortex(or void I dunno) above the wings, the water spray of the turbines when rainningeven with the reverses, the waterdrops on the shield and the engines/APU heat effect...Pardon me if it was already asked and aswered, but I'm following the delevopment since the start and I really forgot a lot what was already said hehe!!!Best wishes,Bruno.
I hope this time signing with my FULL name I get an answer Big%20Grin.gifBruno Fontanella.

...And that is fine, either way i'll be one of the first in line to buy this product, i know that i will not be in any way disappointed
What PMDG is doing is fine - at least you know you are getting something complete.
Most Beta releases are complete, the developers are normally looking for bugs not adding new features, if that is your point then i expect that you will be upset; at some point they almost certainly have to patch the product. As i said it was only a thought, i guess because (even though i just purchased the J41) i really want to start with this aircraft, i guess i'll buy the manuals and get ready! Really not? Well that's sad, since I got a G110 some months ago with FSX and the NGX in mind, sorta. I was hoping to be able to assign custom NGX functions to G keys. That would make up 36 additional keys for me and even more for the G15 users, like 54 or so. Since this is known to be a mostly VC driven plane and I am certainly not a fan fiddling around with the mouse trying to find clickspots (really prefer solid hardware buttons at fixed locations...) I had hoped it would have been useful. Maybe though it will be possible to assign weird arsurd keystrokes like CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+something to a couple of the custom functions (say MCP) and assign these to the G keys via the Logitech software. I am pretty much convinced we won't be able to assign G keys directly from within the simulation (even FSX does not seem to allow this, although I would love if it actually did...), but this workaround would do for me in the end.sig.gif
I thought you were referring to having something displayed on the G15 LCD. There's no reason you can't assign things to the G keys - all those do is emulate keystrokes and the like.

The G keys are an absolute godsend for EZCA camera hotkeys - I never actually used the macro keys on my keyboard until I started using that!

The main reason film and TV can look so smooth at 24 or 30 FPS though is because there's motion blur in each frame. You don't have that in a video game with crisp graphics where every frame viewed alone is perfectly sharp. In the larger gaming world outside FS, 60FPS is seen as the benchmark point where things look smooth to the average eye. On old CRT monitors, you could definitely see flicker from the refresh rate even at 60Hz - 72Hz was always the point where I stopped being able to see it.
