PMDG 737 NGX Approach Checklist, please!

Featured Replies

... It's not that I care all that much, but this IFly a really excited user in the FSX forums has been holding it against the NGX:
I think you got the wrong impression of the guy in question. He's a big fan of flightsimming in general and likes a wide variety of flightsim companies, just not one particular one.

You might be right. It was the way he jumped in there questioning the thread itself and nitpicking on everything about the NGX and the announcement. It looked to me like he had an agenda.
Time to put the manuals stuff to bed - consider this the official facts/confirmation:1. Both FCOMs, the FTCM and the QRH are included as PDFs. These are the real life Boeing manuals, just like the ones we're selling.2. The manuals are printable.3. There will be a separate PMDG-written portion of the manual set that will contain the general overview and methodologies of the product (click spots etc), the sim-related features like the FMC options, failures, fuel/payload stuff, and the tutorial flights.4. The PMDG written portion will be freely downloadable - the tutorial flights are very detailed and will give you enough to easily judge the quality and completeness of the product for those that like to read manuals first. The Boeing manuals are not going to be freely downloadable, we couldn't get permission for that, but that's the only limitation.
Ryan, will the PMDG specific manual be available prior to the release? Thanks

great Ryan that's what we wont its an amazing aircraft from the most best company PMDG

TrackIR/Headtracking = best upgrade you can make to a PC for flightsims.
Plus One. I installed my track ir and within 30mins felt totally at ease with it.Wycliffe

I have to say after reading two pages of speculation regarding the manauals I can't understand why no one could figure out that the manuals would be the same as all the others on the PMDG products. Which is as stated you get a PDF included with the download or boxeed version and you can print it.SeemplesAh well finally you understand. Not long nowWycliffep.s. I wonder if PMDG are waiting for this weekend and the FSC Weston to release it.http://i.imgur.com/EWLI3.png

It's actually a redish/pinkish hue - here's a real life shot - I can see it looking green maybe based on what's in the background though.
Ah, yes, after another viewing of the video I can see the pinkishness! :(

Who knows, sadly people over in the FSX forum like to spread false rumours. Like every other product, there is no reason why the manuals would not be printable. Sometimes, I just dont know what gets in peoples heads such to get worked up

Robert, Was there any opposite rudder used in the last moment (at flare) to align the fuselage with the runway? I don't think I saw that (watched a few times) hence my question.FSX is not really naturally equipped for cross-control therefore my interest.Visually it was extremely satisfying demo.
Just a comment on last moment rudder application. Not done so frequently like that, in real life.Generally speaking, on x-wind approaches, it is a good idea to align the aircraft at 100-200ft RA, and upon doing so, then applying some aileron into the wind to keep the jet aligned.Last second kicks to straighten out the airplane is easier and more useful in smaller airplanes, but jets sized like the NG are usually not x-wind landed like that. With similar sized aircraft, like the A320S, it is also done way before flare. One 757 capt I know wrote about it:"If you try the 'kick and miss' method of de-crabbing before touching then you have to remember that you are swinging a main gear that is 80' behind you when you start. It's very hard to judge and frankly a waste of time. We teach that the best method is to start to apply rudder to centre the nose with the runway at arountd 150' and then apply into wind wing down until you are slipping nicely down the centreline slightly wing down. You then just flare and land normally touching down onto the into wind main gear first."Tero Partanen

Ryan, allow me a suggestion (for later, not now....). I (and certainly many others) would love to have a tutorial flight taking advantadge of the damage engine of the B737! I do have all PMDG previous products but had never tried to fly with damage enabled. I understand that damages do occur randomly but a few examples (how they show up, steps to control them, etc.)would certainly serve as a guide to learn this important aspect of the PMDG products! Thanks!

Mine came though fine, but I think some were it with import duty.

I'm in the process of starting my home cockpit project up, well I've been reading and reading for 2 years now. And been waiting for this 737 for 1½ years or so... With the quality of this product, waould I need any other simulations software? You know the ones that simulate all the backend systems? Like Project Magenta or Pro737 and the likes...I haven't bought any other software yet, but am almost ready to order FMC, MCP and EFIS Pro from FlyEngravity and the motorized throttle Quadrant from Revolution Simproducts... I know many other builders buy Project Magenta - but they have a large pricetag on that...
