PMDG 737 NGX Approach Checklist, please!

Graham-Oooooh... COOOOLD!I've still got money in the "NGX or Duke Nukem" pool! :(
LOL! Lets make it a pool! NGX vs Duke Nukem vs PSN. To be honest I got money on the NGX. The PSN has had zero signs of even coming up anytime soon.

Robert, Was there any opposite rudder used in the last moment (at flare) to align the fuselage with the runway? I don't think I saw that (watched a few times) hence my question.FSX is not really naturally equipped for cross-control therefore my interest.Visually it was extremely satisfying demo.
MJ-That was intentional. I was tring to "plant it" to make certain that it would remain controllable in such a condition. We've been tweaking the lift curves associated with the rudder...The lack of aerodynamic responsiveness in a cross controlled flare annoys me in FS. Especially after a weekend of flying the SNJ. :(
Good to hear that. One question though: Some time ago you or Ryan (not sure) said that there will be some time befor release when Betatesters are allowed to show as many pictures as they want to. When will this be if we're so close to release already?
Emanual-We will be taking the restrictions off them shortly..One of the things I am considering doing is putting no communication restrictions on the Wide Beta team... That way they can give you their first impressions of the airplane in "Real Time."

If someone from pmdg would indulge me on a release day question. Will the various liveries be available the same day? No offense to pmdg house livery but I would rather have the Delta skirt on her on the first flight. If you guys are thinking of waiting due to server issues, would you consider releasing the liveries a few days before so we could already have them and then on release day take them offline? That way most of us would have them already.

Especially after a weekend of flying the SNJ.
Now you're talkin! Forget the 737.If you guys ever made one of them for FS I doubt I'd be able to fly it - I'd be in the hospital or worse from a heart attack... :( It is my favorite aircraft.

About the SNJ, My grandfather has one been up in at few times, have not been able to fly it though :( Dont have a tailwheel endorsement. Nothing like the sound of a radial engine.I am very impressed with the NGX so far, those videos are awesome and the liveries are great. I cant wait to fly it, Great work so far guys and looking forward to seeing more of this amazing aircraft!!Richard Glatter

Things follow up quick! Finaly... however one disadvantage... my F5 button is getting worn out! This is what we hoped for since the first thread called 'some dirt on the ngx'! Superb!

Wow it's so awesome!!! :)There are just 2 things though that are definitely not a problem but i believe they can be improved. The first is the wiper issue with the landing lights on which has already been discussed, and the other is a possible improvement in the roar sound...anyway, i love this bird :D

Lief,We are going to provide an SDK that hardware manufacturers can use to create an interface between their hardware and our software. Some software may be compliant upon plug-in, but others may not...Either way- we don't care to be in the business of connecting hardware so we figured that providing a no-cost solution to the hardware manufacturers (along with instructions) would be the way to go. The only restriction we will place on them is that they cannot charge you for the interface...
That's really great. If I'm finally able to find some help I'll be going for that little MCCP project I had, which I wanted to do first hand and to provide schematics, as well as Microchip program, and Windows Interface program. I'm planning on making this through an arduino board, basically a board with a microchip, the basic card comes for 22€ and the programming tools are completely free, I'm quite sure it is possible to make something that's not too expensive. I just need to find the eletronic guy to help me lool.Anyway that's really great to know about it, even without that project, it can allow for some stuffs to be done to interact with the plane in a nice way :) Can't wait for it as well as the plane :)Cheers.Aurelien

What roar sound? Have you been in an NG cockpit on takeoff? We've actually got the engines louder than they really are for effect right now... on some NGs the recirc fan completely drowns out most of the engine noise... What we have here was recorded from the real airplane and we have multiple pilots giving feedback on the actual implementation in the sim. We spent a really incredible amount of time with the sounds on this - they're accurate, please trust us on this!

A wide range of liveries should be available at release or before, yes.

I thought a lot about this. RIght now in my sim I have set the engine volume down a notch, because I feel there's too much engine noise in the cockpit. But I will thrust in you that if I set the sound levels you recommend, I shouldn't need to reduce engine noise in FSX sound menu, in order to get realistic sounds.

I'm not going to force people to deal with failures on their first flight in the plane... You have to remember that some users will have never bought a PMDG product before and these tutorials will be their first flights in the airplane.
Thank you thank you thank you !!! The tutorial for the Aeroworx B200 ended with a circling approach onto an offset localiser at a cow of an airport in a bowl in the mountains (Castlegar) - just trying to understand what was going on with the approach took all my attention, the plane just faded into the background. It was an awful introduction to aircraft addons (it was my first) and I've never forgotten it. Tutorial flights should end with nice straightforward ILS approaches.Something else they should have is a complete route spec - telling us to enter something like NZAA AA H252 NS V288 YW NZCH is all well and good at the moment (obvious errors aside) but what about in 3 years when the airways have changed ? We need something even if it's just a footnote that tells us the actual waypoints (in this case NZAA AA HNW NPN NP NS PEAKS YW NZCH). Otherwise people who buy the plane in 3 years are going to get up to the bit about entering the route and get an error that the airway doesn't exist and they'll be stuffed - been there done that ...Looking forward to release, not sure about letting the wide beta team rub our noses in it with pictures and first impressions though, it's going to whip up quite a frenzy !! :(

I think you are drastically over-estimating how many people update their AIRAC's.

I know this question was already asked before, but I'm still unclear. Will the initial release contain only the 800 model, or will it include the 600 through 900 models? From the previous answer, it sounded as if the 800 is the only model ready for the product release, and the other models will be available for download at a later date.

I'm in the process of starting my home cockpit project up, well I've been reading and reading for 2 years now. And been waiting for this 737 for 1½ years or so... With the quality of this product, waould I need any other simulations software? You know the ones that simulate all the backend systems? Like Project Magenta or Pro737 and the likes...I haven't bought any other software yet, but am almost ready to order FMC, MCP and EFIS Pro from FlyEngravity and the motorized throttle Quadrant from Revolution Simproducts... I know many other builders buy Project Magenta - but they have a large pricetag on that...
I went with this BU083 for my panel (lights, autobrake, TCAS....). It's good value for 25€ and support for 8 axes and 36 buttons. I like the small size too, but the best part is that it's detected as a regular USB device, so there's no need to program it.

Can someone from PMDG clarify this question (if they are at liberty to...)Will the airplane "save" its usage? For example, after landing in the rain and the autobrakes are set higher to ensure stopping will the brake temp and wear be saved for the next flight (and something that we have to worry about) or will it reset? Same with the hydraulic fluid, etc. I don't know if I have a preference lol but I have read speculation on this in several places in the forums and was wondering what the real answer is.Thanks

Best regards, happy flying,

Wallace
