May 18, 201115 yr will there be an option to remove chewing gum that passengers stick under their seats?yes, that's in the FMC options. Heard they will also have purser settings, when on high you even need to check and clean lavatories during a flight. May 18, 201115 yr Here is another question. We were talking about MM and OM on another topic and this question came to my mind.On all addon that I flew the sound made when you pass the markers is always with the same volume.Once, I saw a Leonardos´s MD-80 Maddog on landing video on youtube and the sound made by the markers was extremely realistic with the volume starting real low and incrising as it was passing by and then starting to get lower gradualy like in real world.I realised that I´ve never saw that in any addon ever. How´s that modeled in the NGX?Thanks again guys! May 18, 201115 yr Damn! Jaw-dropping fantastic! To think that all those buttons are clickable makes me swoon :) The HUD is great, as are the LCD screens. I noticed that the FMC is version 10.8. Will the quirks of the software be modelled?Or did Boeing fix those issues by now? On this, is there anyone who knows if 10.8 is the latest release being used in the real world? There's some mention on that linked site of a version 11 coming out in 2010? Has it made it? Or been canned? Given the amazing amount of options and systems that have been modelled on the NGX, is upgrade or downgrade of the FMC software one of them? Maybe via service pack or whatever in the future? Thanks James Hughes
May 18, 201115 yr Sounds good, but how to put it on then? Can't find a switch for it.I have no idea how accurate this is, but according to this website it's selected using the "data" key on the EFIS control panel. http://www.b737.org.uk/navigation.htm#Vertical_Situation_Display
May 18, 201115 yr Gents-For those that are paying attention to this thread- a couple of little things for you:Vin's image above gives you a really neat perspective on how the collimated HUD provides you with the impression of depth perception. We'll give you a rundown on what it is doing in a later update (probably a tutorial on how it works so you can use it the way it was intended!)I've read posts from a few folks worried that "detail is going to make this hard to use." To the contrary- since this HUD works the way it is supposed to in the airplane- it makes it INCREDIBLY intuitive. There is quite a bit of science behind HUD design- and all of it is geared toward making the pilot experience easier, more intuitive and effective.Okay- so you've read this far- here is a little tid-bit: Tonight we had our first full-on "release scheduling" discussion with a calendar and specific dates involved... We still have those two mile-markers I mentioned in my previous post- but we should pass those this week. Once we are beyond them, I'll have some news on a release date. Stay tuned!Wooooooooo!!!There is a light at the end of the tunnel :( Nyasha GwazaFSX, DP55WB, Intel Core i5-2300 processor 2.8 Ghz, NVIDIA GeForce 9400GT graphis card, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
May 18, 201115 yr I have no idea how accurate this is, but according to this website it's selected using the "data" key on the EFIS control panel. Negative. You gotta push the CTR button. In fact it will cycle thru EXP, CTR, and CTR/VSD, unlike the ones that lack the VSD where it will just switch back and forth between EXP and CTR. DATA OTOH will show stuff like possible alt constraints and ETA for coming up waypoints.
