What zoom level in the VC?

Featured Replies

Please tell me how and where I can set the zoom cause I cannot find it where to do. Maybe I am a bit blind for it. Praying.gif

OK, let´s get this bird moving. Would you please remind me where the throttles are?

I press the - key 3 times and it seems to give the best view.

On my pc with 3 26" screens for one wide view I use : - Wideview =1 in the fsx.cfg file- 0.80 spotplane + CTRL - to zoom in on the ac so it has the size of the middle monitor- 0.80 VC- 0.70 windview I use Hattrack.

I suppose it depends a lot on what size monitor you use and how close you sit to it. Things like Track IR and hat track will change the way you interact with the vc.Good point about the car actually, I once got a go on a British airways 737 sim ( not level D), straight after I was in my car and thought to myself, It's about the same view point as my car so I too adjusted my POV in the sim to match. 0.80 but sat slightly further back in the seat.Dan.

Press backspace and Ctrl+Space in the VC to reset it to the default view. We had that view checked by the real pilots on the tech team and everyone was happy with it.
I like .60 and always use it, but it honestly depends if you have true or false views set? I use a 22" 1680x1050, and I find 0.60 in false and thats best for me.50 for wingviews

I have my zoom at 0.60 as recommended in the Introduction document. The WideAspect line is necessary in the fsx.cfg in order to get the right perspective, particularly looking through the HGS, which is sized wrong if I don't have the entry. I don't think the view is 100% realistic but unless you have TrackIR and can pan around naturally then it's the best you can do. Here's how my captain's view looks - 1802011_8_9_15_57_36_15_c.jpg Cheers, Mike Gibson

In the VC, try + and - for changing your zoomlevel. Also when spacebar is pressed try the mousewheel.

Am I the only one to use 1.0? When I enter the cockpit I move the view point back to the headrest and zoom in at 1.0 sometimes 0.9 but not less.It feels realistic to me like that^^Pierre Laine

As said beforeby Dan, I think too it depends on screen size you have, may be resolution too, because in order to have this view (like the one shown in the intro manual), I have to zoom out at least at 40%. If I want to keep the 60-70% recommended zoom, or just using the default view implemented by PMDG pressing BACKSPACE an CTRL+SPACE, I have to seat back and low, but it is too back as my head point of view is located in the seat back.

Have you set WideViewAspect=True in the fsx.cfg?

Tobias

Have downloaded and installed the 737 profiles created by Nick at AOA and available at that site and his are set to .65.Looks good to me. Exellent profile set by the way.

I place my viewpoint further back, so that I am closer to the headrest, which gives me a slightly better view of the overhead without having to change to a different view... then I set the zoom to 0.6, which gives me a good overview. Works for me well enough, but aspect is one of the subjective things... Find the view you are happy with, set it, and go fly! :) Andrew

Makes a huge difference. Things seem less distorted with "True". I suggest "False" at .40x zoom.

Yes that is what I've done.

I've done it but the .65 give me a view which is closer to the instrument than the picture shown as well in the intro manual than in the AoA screenshots introducing the EZCA cameras in their website...
