I would expect some "new" members will suddenly appear on this forum to tell it like it is.

Unfortunately, you may be right. A covenant means little or nothing to many.Kind regards,

I didn't expect them to upload their beta, only comment about it!

Idea.gif Maybe somebody should post this news in the X-Plane forums LOL.gif
My first thought is how interesting it is that this announcement is coinciding with the release of XP10. Makes you wonder if the boys in Redmond are feeling the pressure.

Oh yes! They'll be doublechecking Flights GUI now Big%20Grin.gif
Hopefully these speculative and primarily ridiculous threads will whither away into obscurity. Microsoft will turn the FLIGHT lights on soon, making all the creatures that roam around in the dark scurry for cover! Angel.gifKind regards,
LOL, so true. But it won't take long before we have similar discussions about how Microsoft did it all completely wrong biggrin.png

Technically this announcement is before the release of XP10 ...also, my bet is that MS doesnt view XP has being able to put a large dent in its market share. Remember, flight is going after the wider audience .. the type that would never use XP

I don't think they will acept anyone who has posted in this forum Loser.gif

The type that would never use FSX, evidently.

Want to bet some $$ on that?

I said as much in one of my posts and atleast one person asked if I was serious ! There is no doubt in my mind M$ is feeling the pressure. At the same time, seeing the release of XP10 demo, I have to say X-plane is dropping the ball - big time, missing the boat where they could have made a huge leap forward. BUT, it ain't over. In the infamous words of someone (Churchill ?), this is the begining of the begining. In both M$ and Laminar's case, I hope they both release user friendly tools and SDK's with their releases. With Microsoft, it seems more unlikely because of their potentially Apple type marketing strategy; and regarding X-plane, Laminar does not place as much emphasis on developmental tools and SDK's - to them, it seems it's an after thought and a minimal requirement alternate to developing a more complete fully developed package with manual and documentation. But, glad to see M$ Flight getting ready for a beta !

But not because of X-Plane. As has been said many times before, their targetmarket is much wider. And the real hardcore simmers will probably get Flight to run next to X-Plane, that is if it turns out to be a good simulator ofcourse. But I guess that even amongst hardcore simmers the Microsoft series is more popular, simply because you have a wider range of addons to choose from. With the upcoming store I assume that will stay this way.
