February 2, 201214 yr I've found the answer from Umberto in the AS forums to be a nice read too.Got a link to it ? I couldn't find it.Thanks
February 2, 201214 yr As said. Both products deserve attention and fans in my eyes. So be aware of the politics, and enjoy the products in the first place. :( http://forum.aerosof...opic/52347-gsx/I've just requested deboarding of my turbine Duke. Lets head for the catering. :( Edited February 2, 201214 yr by CoolP
February 2, 201214 yr Commercial Member Seems like I should try GSX with AI on now. :( I've obviously missed that nice feature. It's a bit smarter than that:- if the AI will depart in more than 30 minutes, it will say the parking spot is "occupied"- if the AI will depart in less then 30 minutes, it will say the parking spot will be available in xx minutes (so you might decide it could be free by the time you get there)- if the AI will depart in less than 1 minute, it will say "available soon"Of course, AI being what they are, they sometime miss their scheduled departure (very realistic ;) ) so, if their expected departure time has passed, and they are still there, GSX will say "available soon, delay xx minutes"Smart people will probably realize by this what's in store for the future GSX versions... February 3, 201214 yr Smart people will probably realize by this what's in store for the future GSX versions...OK, but what about the rest of us who isn't to smart?BTW, I'd love to see snowplows during the appropriate time of year. Big airport. little airports, doesn't matter. I could just see Elmer, the FBO flunkie out on a John Deere tractor plowing off some grass or dirt runway in FSX!
February 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member OK, but what about the rest of us who isn't to smart?I meant: GSX is already interacting with AI, in some way... Umberto Colapicchioni http://www.fsdreamteam.com FSDT on Facebook
February 3, 201214 yr I completely concur. I'm not a pilot, but seen so many videos, pictures and all, and I can never remember seeing any follow-me from or to the runway. "To" is, like... totally ridiculous.:(

"To" is, like... totally ridiculous. It does happen more often than you think. I have seen them (rw) at jfk, eham and other airports. Oh I also found a pict.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/karel_s/5897406294/in/set-72157626975893495

You have a tug moving logistically, an aircraft from one location to another, with the yellow caution truck in advance.....
February 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member THESE are Follow Me cars, although of the standard type, not "to the runway" They are fairly common, especially in Europe. There was a thread on Airliners which I can't seem to be able to link here, saying Follow me to the runway is standard procedure at the Budapest airport. February 3, 201214 yr Not to mention it has become standard procedure for the 380 at a lot of airports including a FOD sweep of the runway right after takeoff... Pic and discussion on it on a-liners.net right now.... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 3, 201214 yr There was a thread on Airliners which I can't seem to be able to link here, saying Follow me to the runway is standard procedure at the Budapest airport. That is also true for a fair few German airports. In my former home airport of Düsseldorf (EDDL, DUS) it is standard procedure, despite the fact that the airport is pretty easy to navigate and isn't especially large. Even aircraft that are based at the airport are regularly guided in by follow me cars, despite the fact that the pilots must know the place like the back of their hands. I often wondered about the economical sense in this, but regardless: it does happen day in day out. In Sydney (YSSY, SYD) on the other hand I don't recall ever seen an aircraft being guided in by follow me. Clearly a regional thing. And just for a laugh: This really is a follow me vehicle at Hannover Airport (EDDV, HAJ):Yes, its a Porsche Cayman :-) I'm guessing it is/was used for advertisement purposes, but apparently it really is/was used as a follow me car.Edit: Oh I just found out Düsseldorf got one as well (since 2008 apparently - long after I skipped town, so I never got to see this): Edited February 3, 201214 yr by alepro Cheers, Alex
