May 3, 201214 yr Hi PMDG staff, Simple question, Are you considering an extension 737 MAX ? Based on everything which has been said I assume that the answer to your simple question is : At this time, not at all. and to your rephrased question (which is not exactly the same) : ... or if theyconsider possible (after the manufacture of the aircraft), to be able to make an extension. Yes, they would surely be able to. Why not ? (They can simply do everything :P) Thibault Dosunmu
May 3, 201214 yr This has actually been done, on the first ever Boeing 737, which is now preserved: The 737 was sold by Boeing to NASA after a few years of it laying dormant in a Boeing hangar, who then used it to develop FMC designs in the late 1970s. And to do that, as well as for trying out new yoke designs and other cockpit innovations, NASA actually built a second flight deck in the cabin of that very first 737-100, so that pilots could control the aircraft from there using new control layouts from non visual references. There was always a crew on the original conventionally-equipped flight deck in the main cockpit area as a safety measure of course, who could take over if things went awry, but it was perfectly possible for a complete flight to be entirely conducted from the second flight deck in the cabin area. Al hell yea - that is so cool. thanks for sharing Max PMDG 747X & 737NGX Pilot

May 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member No plans currently - even with a visual model extension we wouldn't do this until the design was finalized and being built, like we did with the 747-8. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

May 4, 201214 yr I wonder what's that hump on the fuselage under the flight deck?... Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
May 4, 201214 yr That's actually possible... If you have a crew member directing you from the windshield. You could control it sat at home using an iPhone
May 4, 201214 yr I wonder what's that hump on the fuselage under the flight deck?... That's a new change like the winglets, that wasn't on the earlier renderings. It's to accommodate a longer nose landing gear (in addition to shuffling stuff around the Avionics bay) which itself needs to be longer to give clearance to the larger diameter engines (speculation is the fans could be up to 69" with that :shok: ) There's a similar bump on the A330 Freighters Steve Caffey

May 5, 201214 yr <funny cartoon Al :LMAO: And closer to the truth than we might like. I seem to remember one of the issues that came up during testing of 787 was a concern that the onboard wi-fi was not sufficiently separated from the flight computer, potentially allowing someone to hack into the flight controls. All fixed now though. John-Alan Pascoe
May 6, 201214 yr If the Max isn't going to be out till 2017 most people will have moved on to the PMDG 777-300, 747-400 v 2.0 (Possibly a 747-800) and Maybe even a 787. Being 5 to 6 years from now FSX will probably have gone the way of FS9 and Xplane becomes the new greatest Platform. Xplane may not be what most people want right now but who knows in 5 years it maybe be the best Simulator platform available if they make it 64-bit in SP1 and have support for Dual or Triple Video Cards and Overclocked 8 - 16 core CPUs. I did not mention Microsoft Flight as a possible option because they abandoned True Simulation in Favor of an Xbox type Game that everyone can play. The Saddest thing as far as Flight Simulation goes is the Companies that make controllers. While Software and Computer Hardware gets better every year, the Controller market has remained mostly stagnant. Your only options for the NGX (Yokes) are either a CH or Saitek Yoke. After that your talking $800 to $1500.00 or more. It would be nice if these 2 companies opened their eyes and could see that there is a market out there for good quality flight simulator yokes. If they made one that was around $400.00 - $500.00 and had the quality of the Thrustmaster Warthog I would definately buy it. Paul Deemer
