Just did a quick testflight. Enjoyed it allot feels real with the shaking and rattles. View is great from the cockpit because of the canopy. And its really fast to for such a small plane.

Awesome plane thanks Realair!!

Kimo

Does it really stand out from the crowd. Like A2A Acc-sim do and the RealAir DukeT does.

Does it have VC button sounds, did not like that about the Duke but that's fixed now.

Is this a real long time keeper? come on guys, hand on heart is it a Keeper?

Yes, definitely. The care that went into this addon is incredible. Here are several close-ups I made of the cockpit. They are all at 1600x1200 so you can zoom in. Concerning the sounds, they are so good that I switch A2A Accufeel off when flying this aircraft. The view out of the cockpit is just fine (I also have the other Lancair). The flight model is.... Realair so you just can't go wrong.

KInd regards

My sim crashes when I select double GNS530 configuration (in fact, if I select any configuration at all) at the plane select... Don't know why.

If you do not have the RXP Unlimited package installed, selecting the 2X530 config

or 530+430 config will crash FSX.

So does this feel a lifeless plastic bubble with bad view looking forward like the Orbx felt to me, just my opinion ofc(orbx did a great job just did not like there lancair)

This aircraft feels ALIVE in every sense. More than any other aircraft in my virtual hangar. After I build up the courage to buy the Reality XP 530 and start flying with more up-to-date navdata, I think this plane will be the perfect cross country GA platform.

Definitely.Imo this and the pmdg737 ,this year, are addons that no serious simmer should be without: Must-have.

I keep losing engine power at about 10000 feet -9 celcius.Manifuld pressure drops to 5 quickly. Turned on carb heat with the keyboard and everything returned to normal. But the is no carb heat lever in the cockpit what am I missing?

Kimo

Are you flying through clouds? It sounds like you're icing up. You need to be lower, in warmer temps, or remain clear of clouds to prevent icing.

Your carb heat is missing because the engine in the Lancair doesn't have a carburetor. It is fuel injected. It is not certified for flight into icing conditions.

Yes I have googled it. It is a fsx bug that fuel injected engines gets carb icing.

Kimo

If you assign a key to the carb heat command, it should work again. I think, by default, that's 'H'.

You can still encounter induction icing in a fuel injected aircraft. Ice can block or partially block the air intake when flying into moisture at temps near and below 0C.

I guess the fact that the carb heat bind fixed the issue indicates your situation was related to the FSX bug. Just keep in mind that you may still encounter icing that affects a fuel injected engine if flying into those types of conditions. Absent any type of engine anti-ice system, there's nothing you can do about it except avoid the condition in the first place.

I wonder if the ALT AIR knob would affect engine performance in icing conditions. I don't see it mentioned in the manuals.

I was on the fence too, since this month has been expensive from great long awaited FSX releases, and I already have a couple of other favorite GAs, but I ended up reading the comments and taking the jump and am really glad I did, the immersion flying this plane is terrific, and it jumps to the top of my favorites list and I will be flying this for a long time.

Great job RealAir/Rob, and thanks to those that shared their feedback here.

I've been wanting something light and fast as an alternative to the Orbx Lancair, for the only reason of not having good visibility... well, as we can all imagine, this is the PERFECT replacement!
