October 13, 201213 yr Mathijs at Aerosoft has also stated a few times that a majority of their customers have never visited a forum. That fact should make the calculations based on a percentage of active forum members kinda mute. Aerosoft sells the boxed edition of the PMDG 737. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
October 13, 201213 yr Why do you think the NGX attracted more people who previously weren't in to the hardcore fs market? What is it about the ngx that brought people over? There's been other hard core sims, sure maybe not like the ngx but close and some have surpassed the ngx in terms of systems. Was it just the fact it was a 737 and not a MD80 , 747,767 MD11 etc. Just wondering, your thoughts? Lee
October 13, 201213 yr Unless its good for the "Collective"? If your not a publicly held company and or a Gov't entity. There is no obligation nor reason to divulge sales figures. Except to the IRS !!!

October 14, 201213 yr Needless to say, the numeric amount is not something we're going to be divulging here - we do not have investors / shareholders and there is no legitimate need for anyone to know our internal business numbers. I will say (because RSR's already said it in the past year) that the NGX became the best selling product in our history within just a few months after release last year. Too bad. But I understand. --Peter Fabian
October 16, 201213 yr Commercial Member Gents- I want to compliment the participants of this thread- because **even though** this is a topic we have made clear will never be answered by us- nobody pounced with claws extended. I thought the answers you all provided to the original poster (and in the subsequent discussion) were respectful and courtious. Thank you! (And no- we won't be giving out any information in this regard... we just don't... sorry!) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
October 16, 201213 yr From a consumer standpoint, thankfully sales have been good enough for PMDG to continue to spoil us with the Rolls Royce of airliner Sims. I think that speaks volumes about unit sales. Just my opinion;-) "To most the sky is the limit but to me it's home" Rick Harms (CYVR) i7 [email protected] (for now) asus p6t v2, 6gb ocz 1600 CL7 ram. It's the world's most popular and best-selling series of airplanes in real life. Everyone and their brother's flown on one and knows it.2. It's very versatile - you can fly a 30 minute flight into a short field or a psuedo-long haul to Hawaii or across the Atlantic with it and still be realistic.3. The NGX attracted a ton of attention/hype because of the huge leaps forward in graphical and systems fidelity we presented leading up to the release. That long AoA systems preview video made with the late beta went viral and was posted on a number of real life aviation blogs and sites like Flight Global, sites covering the wider gaming community etc - we think that led to a lot of first time buyers who were unaware simulations of this fidelity existed for the home PC platform. It's crazy how often I've actually met people out in real life who know about us own our products - I met a guy in class a few weeks ago who is a simmer after he overheard me talking to another guy about what I do.4. Despite some of the complaints about delays and stuff leading up to release, I think we did a good job ourselves marketing it and keeping it visible in the community's mind with our update posts and videos etc. Expect the same with the 777 once we have cockpit stuff to show. It made my level D 767 look like freeware. After the NGX I really cant imagine the 777 being deeper than the NGX as Robert said! You guys do realize you started a new chapter in Flightsim payware right? David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.

October 19, 201213 yr Probably around 5,000 copies... The hardcore FS community is really small guys... Not that I have any business getting involved in this game... BUT.. PMDG has nearly 15,000 likes on Facebook. Surely that means something? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
