November 15, 201213 yr Hello guys, I really need your help. For the past three weeks or so, I've been getting severe migraines, everyday for 24 hours, and so, quite naturally I decided to go have it checked out. I went to the doctor on Tuesday of this week, and she prescribed 2 different types of medication 1 for migraines and one for sinusitis. Ciproxin 500mg and Tonopan respectively. The original dosage was as follows 1 Cipro every 12 hours, for 2 weeks, and two tablets of Tonopan whenever there's the onset of a migraine. I thought this had finally solved my problem. Anyway, stupid me had gone home that same afternoon and took 2 doses of the Cipro after eating, as I confused it with the two tablets of Tonopan. Convinced I was all good to go, I hit the bed early. Woke up in the morning about 2AM with a severe pain on the right aide of my middle back. The pain grew worse and spread to the other side of my back. I thought maybe it was my sleeping position so I laid on my stomach and went back to bed. I woke up again at 3 with nausea. That nausea quickly developed into vomiting, which lasted for the rest of the morning, along with my back pain. I decided to get it checked out at my local hospital and now I'm bed ridden, being cared for, because of an acute renal faillure, all because of my inability to follow instructions. However guys, I wish that you please keep me in your minds and hearts in a time of need. I wish to return to regular forum posting but everything has simply lost my interest.
November 15, 201213 yr all because of my inability to follow instructions. Don't blame yourself. Here's your next planning item: get better soon. And keep posting if you can/like/are up to, ok? Wishing you the best.

November 15, 201213 yr Get well mate. AVSIM will be here when you are ready. Your wellness takes priority. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
November 15, 201213 yr I'm no pharmacist but I seriously doubt that just taking two Cipro instead of one would bring on acute renal failure -- there surely must have been other issues, and you shouldn't blame yourself. But that aside, take care and get well ASAP :Peace:
November 15, 201213 yr Get well soon mate. Sounds like quite the stroke of bad luck. Speedy recovery. Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.

November 15, 201213 yr I decided to get it checked out at my local hospital Hi there, One good consequence of going into a hospital is to get a thorough checkup. As Raindance said, I am neither a pharmacist nor a doctor but a hospital is probably a good place to talk about your problem. For example, sometimes, sinusitis is directly linked to a tooth problem... Take care, Bruno

Actually there are several reports of acute renal failure related to Ciprofloxacin intake. (the active substance in Ciproxin) Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
