Hi Ryan

I understand and actually agree with you. I will add your wishes onto the 'to do' list and get it implemented as soon as I can. Don't know if it will be before the Xmas break (day off) but I will find time for it pretty soon.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Regards

Stephen :-)

I agree with you totally, I made another mistake here and took the statement personally. Cheryl is usually the cool headed one and doesn't let any post or comment get to her. But what more can I say, no matter what was proclaimed I'm the one that's going to get the bashing for overreacting. I should have known better. Of course the original statements are completely silly and unfounded. I have apologised probably three times now, but at the time I was furious that such a ludicrous statement should be made. I should have just ignored it considering the amount of time I've had to spend trying to apologise to everyone.

Don't worry Stephen we are all here humans and (you apologized) adults, enough said carry on Gentleman and Ladies on topic and just facts not emotions or speculations ;-)

Cheers,

Really appreciate that! Just curious too, what did you guys do involving the NGX SDK exactly? There's an "FSXPMDG.exe" file in there along with our SDK Eula and an options ini but I don't see anything about it in the documentation. (if I missed it somewhere let me know)

I think what you mean to say is after years and years of blaming FSX, the phase of the moon, other developers, cats with spots, everyone else's computer and on and on and on they fixed a problem that after what.... a few months these guys solved with out complaint. Me thinks that AS is back in front may be a bit over the top. LOL!! Right or wrong...competition is good. Use it as a positive thing not to put down OPUS who is working very hard to make their product and our hobby better. Please

I'm not putting Opus down, far from it.... it is very good. Just like the Legacy!!

It is used to interface the excellent CPFlight MCP and EFIS panel hardware to the NGX via our driver.

Ok sounds like we all need to settle down a bit IMO. Personally I backed off the OPUS FX wagon but may revisit in the future. Obviously we are going through the evolution of a good (if not great) piece of software. I hope all the best for Stephen and the OPUS crew and appreciate all the effort they are putting into the project. Cheers jja

... no bakers list of check boxes, nerd nobs, sliders, options, and weather modes.

Nerd nobs...may I steal that expression, Mike ? Rather nice !

Opus is something I'm reading about and examining - got the demo, BTW. I have huge respect for the REX team and what they have achieved, but..my experiences with it have left me unconvinced. Maybe I have some settings incorrect, though I've been through the manual fairly thoroughly. Anyway, a good report on Opus, and it coming from a real-world aviator always adds a degree of authority.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Silly man. The 0 METARs means there are no met stations in your current weather cell, that is within 5 to 10 miles of you. You really do not know anything do you.

Also check the Upper Atmosphere weather report window, that will tell you what the GRIB forecast data (temps and winds) is for all the upper levels. Display any of the Local,Destination, and Alternate weather report windows and you will also see the current ambient temp and wind along with the GRIB forecasted targets. If I were you I would make sure I know what I'm talking about before voicing an opinion. 0 METARs implies no METARs found in Europe ... That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Check your OpusWeather.txt file and you will see the hundreds of METARs downloaded to construct your last weather map for the 600 x 600 mile map area.

What a laugh.

Amuzed

Stephen

First of all, sorry that such a silly customer doesn't know, that 0 Metar belongs to a weather cell within 5 to 10 miles.

With no word I claimed, that there are absolutely no Metar's in entire Europe, if I get the 0 Metar message.

I wondered why only some miles around the aircraft clouds are depicted and if you reach the former cloudless areas, suddenly clouds appear and that this phenomenon has something to do with the 0 Metar report, but as I recognized now , that was really stupid.

In no way my post was offence intended, but to realize this, one have to read and understand.

BTW: Yes, you are absolutely right, I really do not know anything, maybe otherwise I have developed such a software myself. What a piece of luck for our world that there are some intelligent people.

Concerning aloft temp and winds:

I did several flights today and on every flight I got some extreme windshifts which let the aircraft get into overspeed range or nearly stall, with everything of this smoothing stuff ticked, but this is due to the fact that I'm a silly pilot, it has nothing to do with Opus, just to make things clear.

Amen

Mats Weinberger

I have nothing to do with OpusFSX, just a happy costumer, but Stephen, I think it's best you direct all questions about Opus and Bug Reports to your forum, there are so many things an user will see as he enters the OpusFSX forum, that may solve the problem he is having imediately, instead of you needing to spends thousands of words here for everyone who buys the software and expect perfection from the first time he enters his FS.

Forum for those who are curious is here

Best place to ask anything about Opus! These guys will respond to you faster than you think!! Best support ever.

Really appreciate that !

Hi Ryan

OK it was bugging me, so I decided to make a few changes this morning (early) and get them in the current beta release 2.70.3. In this beta, OpusFSX can be installed into a sub-folder provided the final folder name is OpusFSX (e.g. d:\FSXFILES\OpusFSX is OK). You should still refrain from installing OpusFSX into Program Files though. The full description of the beta changes can be found in our Flight1 Announcements. I was able to give the above a quick test on server and client systems before posting, so you will be doing the rest of the beta testing. After uninstalling just remember to copy or move your current OpusFSX folder into its new location prior to re-installing the beta, that way you will not loose any CAM or DAT files etc. Let me know how you get on either via email or via our Flight1 Support forum.

The service from Stephen and Cheryl never stop to amaze me, I had a self inflicted problem earlier and after a short Saturday evening and an equally short Sunday morning it was sorted.

I stopped using Opus around 2.50 and ran a while with AS2012 SP2 because of the winds aloft issue, but now I will get back on. Really love the depiction of Opus. Looking forward to see how it pans out with PFPX... ;)

Spot on Stephen. For the above poster who said AS2012 was back in front, I fully disagree. Opus is the biggest dog on the front porch now. (Stephen, that is American backwoods slang for saying your program is currently #1).
