January 22, 201313 yr I just purchased it after asking a similar question and I'm quite pleased with it so far. I like programming my yoke/buttons with it. So much more extensive. There's still alot I have to learn about and set up but all in all, I highly recommend it. A few weeks ago there was a list here of top ten add-ons and the vast majority had FSUIPC listed, which is what propmted my question why. After getting a few responses, needles to say I bought it You won't be disappointed, that's for sure. jime James D. Edwards
January 22, 201313 yr The free version is an absolute necessity if you are going to use programs like PlanG and FSCommander together with FSX. Both of those programs will allow you to see your aircraft as well as AI aircraft on a moving map alonside your FSX screen. It does a lot of other things too, but I have only the free version which is enough for my needs. Some programs like REX require FSUIP to function - but the free version is enough. IN sum FSUIP allows other programs to interact with FSX or P3D. Henri Henri Arsenault
January 23, 201313 yr In short, yes. FSUIPC has been one of the best and most useful things I've ever spent on FS! It is the veritable "Swiss Army Knife" of flightsim utility programs, capable of doing far, far more than simply smoothing winds aloft... B) Perfectly summarized my thoughts....

January 23, 201313 yr Bought it previously. Definately won't be using it in my new system. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 23, 201313 yr Bought it previously. Definately won't be using it in my new system. What a strange post. FSUIPC is indeed a must. I really don't see how any *serious* simmer could possibly be without it. Pete Dowson, it's creator is also one the most helpful simmers out there. January 23, 201313 yr How long does it take to set up controllers with FSUIPC? Is it difficult? For me, 5 mins. Yes I thought it was difficult... On the serious side, there is a learning curve, search and read on this forum, and trial and error makes the first time tedious, but as soon as you understand how it works it's ok. The result makes it worth your while.
January 23, 201313 yr FSRealWx lite is a great weather program. (It's free!) I've used it for some months with my NGX, and its wind transition is very smooth. David Chen
January 23, 201313 yr How long does it take to set up controllers with FSUIPC? Is it difficult? It can be easy or difficult.. :-) The GUI screens are pretty easy to use and figure out.... If you want to do something a little esoteric then it can be a little daunting.. but you can get all kinds of help from those of us that have been there before. I have one of my axis levers set for the JS4100 condition levers.. such that full back sets to taxi, full forward sets to flight and in middle is a neutral zone where if it push it a little forward in increases the FSX condition lever and a little back decreases it.. Makes it easier to set them properly using the axis controlers.. and I am still customizing it to taste ... So if you want to have your controls work your way.. then FSUIPC is a must have.
January 23, 201313 yr but all the info I can find is several years old. It is still rtegularly updated and is fully supported by its author.. http://forum.simflig...dowson-modules/ Gerry Howard
January 23, 201313 yr It sounds great if you have a direct need for it; eg your control-mapping software isn't up to snuff or some add-on requires it. I've avoided it so far because it sounds like it touches a lot of things that are already working fine on my system. The laundry list of things in FSX that have to be configured and corrected is long enough already, and I avoid unnecessary additional "moving parts" whenever I can. It is still rtegularly updated and is fully supported by its author.. http://forum.simflig...dowson-modules/ Thanks for this info. When you go to the "official" download page, it does look like an abandoned product. Clark Janes
January 23, 201313 yr Moderator It sounds great if you have a direct need for it; eg your control-mapping software isn't up to snuff or some add-on requires it. Actually, that couldn't be further from the truth; FSUIPC won't really do anything unless you explicitly tell it to "do something." What it does is sit on your system passively after installation and simply wait for someone or some program that uses or requires it to do something. The one thing that makes FSUIPC unique is that it is the longest author supported utility program in the history of flight simulator! Fr. January 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member Oh yeah, that's right! I don't really remember, was it here even before FS9? That part of my simming carreer is a bit cloudy already... First released for FS2000 in 1999, based on the last version by Adam Szofran called FS6IPC which was for FS98 only. Continued to be developed for CFS1, FS2002 and CFS2, before FS2004 (=FS9). WideFS dates back further, originally built on the back of WidevieW by permission of Luciano Napolitano, which is how WideFS came to have that name. So, Luciano's WidevieW of course also dates back as far, if not further, than FSUIPC. Regards Pete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. January 24, 201313 yr How long does it take to set up controllers with FSUIPC? Is it difficult? When I first bought it, I read a number of guides for setting up controls similar to mine, read the manual and then put off installing and configuring for several weeks because it sounded a bit involved. I finally had a free day with plenty of time to break things and get them fixed again and... It was pretty much anti-climatic, as the process was actually quite intuitive. The biggest single gotcha I ran into in the beginning was that something kept re-enabling FSX control of my devices. Once you get going on it, you'll wonder why you waited and you'll start discovering more and more things you can do with it. Scott

Will I have to disable my axis' on the FSX settings? And is it possible to set a brake axis? I have Logitech pedals I use for driving games, but they work well as rudder pedals also I was wondering if I could possibly make the clutch pedal a brake axis? It's pretty annoying having to use max braking every time I hit the trigger on my joystick. -Chris Crawford -ATP/MEL - B737 / B777 / B-727 / EMB-145 / LR-JET
