April 3, 201313 yr Why does the FlightSimLabs Concorde X get so little attention and praise. Why no Gold Star award from Avsim. How good is this Concorde. Thinking about gettin' it but it never goes on sale. Any opinions on it? If you don't have it why not?
April 4, 201313 yr I transitioned to FSX because of Concorde X. Lj. Prodanovic
April 4, 201313 yr I bought the Concorde X over a year ago and have to say that it's a fantastic add-on. Unfortunately I haven't managed to put the time and effort in to properly learn it beyond attempting the tutorial flights several times. The amount of detail is incredible and on the same level as add-ons from PMDG such as the NGX, MD-11, 744X etc. Keep in mind though that this aircraft is nothing like any of those modern, subsonic airliners. There's no FMS or RNAV capabilities beyond an early rendition of INS, you'll also need to rely fairly heavily on basic radio nav a lot of the time when flying SID/STAR's. All of this coupled with the fact that the aircraft flies in supersonic range at FL600 and the option to manually control all of the duties of the FE as well as the PF makes for a very demanding learning experience. Even though I've regularly flown other complex add-ons such as the NGX, I've found that this one requires a LOT more time and attention than I have at the moment hence the reason why I've parked for the time being. It's still an aircraft I hope to come back to at some point as I'd still love to learn it one day when I have more time. Michael R

Phillip, I looked into the Concorde when I interviewed the team at Flight Sim Labs...just doing a little bit of research left me very impressed indeed. A late edition of PC Pilot magazine rates the Concorde as "Platinum" as far as FSX add ons are concerned, and despite me not owning it, for what I have seen and researched, the Platinum award is very well deserved. There is currently no other aircraft in the Flight Simulator world that attracts attention and/or admiration like the Concorde, not just because of the aura this aircraft attracts, but also because you know this add-on has so many analogue systems simulated (plus the supersonic operations), that the virtual pilot operating it deserves every bit of your respect and admiration. If you are on the fence, take the jump, there are quite a few Concorde pilots around who can help you out. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
April 4, 201313 yr but it never goes on sale Yes, it does. That is how I got mine at flightstore.co.uk about exactly 2 years ago. Regrettably, no idea where you can get it on sale nowadays. Rick Almeida
April 4, 201313 yr Thanks. Stay tuned working on a fuel panel one now due to so many requests. Mark CYYZ
April 4, 201313 yr It's ridiculously good. Very highly recommended for those that are into systems vatsim s3
April 4, 201313 yr Excellent plane and I highly recommend it. It was worth $70 to me. I'll get 70 hours of enjoyment out of it for sure. I'll say a few negatives... At first I was disappointed in the lack of fully operational VC. You are forced to use old school 2D panel most of the time. I can see why however, because FSX could never handle such a loaded VC. Which brings up my 2nd negative... Stability. One needs a very solid and stable PC for Concorde X cause it is rather edgy and quirky at times. I learned to load minimal .dll's and load other planes first to keep Concorde X from glitching out. Last negative, many of the VC textures look subpar compared to other high shelf planes on the market. Again, probably due to compromise of FSX limitations however.

April 4, 201313 yr Yes it has ILS autoland.....although there are a few more steps involved to get it set up than just pushing one button. Mark CYYZ
April 4, 201313 yr If I had reviewed the Concorde X it would have gotten an award in a heart beat. I am thoroughly convinced that it is THE best addon that I have. It is a bit complicated to fly and that may intimidate others but it is quite a gem. Its one of those aircrafts you have to dedicate some time to learning. Marlon Carter - AVSIM Reviewer
