They won't release it without notice - Rob said that a few times now. However it is very exciting with Rob's announcement around the corner at Fancon. I guess I'm just not up to getting my hopes up when they update something. I'll keep my excitement in until we have a release date estimate/scheduled (-: In the mean time, who else hates reading the FAR/AIM? :-P

They said that about the NGX, that they won't release it without notice. Well, their notice was just like this, a bunch of Facebook hints.

Kinda wish it had a different interior. LOL

I am probably the only one who thinks this, but I think the colors of the flight deck are ugly. It was actually a reason behind me not jumping onto the 747 after I got the 737.

 

Just kinda looks bland and "old" to me. I will still buy it, don't get me wrong, and fly 2-3 hour legs at the most with it....lol...but still. Wish it had like the 737 colors.

I wouldn't ever read it, really.  If you're studying for something, just glance at the appropriate parts, referenced by the PTS.  So, if you're studying for something PPL-related: a lot of Part 91 study, with some of Part 61 and 23.  The workflow should be: read the PTS/oral exam guide, see if it references the FAR/AIM, and if so, go read the appropriate section.  Trying to read it like a book isn't very productive.  It's not written to be read like that, so your mind checks out pretty quickly.

Haha yeah I know - I'm reading the ones mainly from my Oral prep guide! But thanks for the tip. I was just going through the FAR and bookmarking some pages encase I have a brain fart in my oral ha.

Ah, you are probably right EGL77W. I could very well be remembering it wrong. Or more likely I missed that post.

 

I remember it being that they released something that said they wont spring it on us in the middle of the night, that we will have plenty warning. And then all of a sudden the Facebook stuff happened, and threw the whole board into a frenzy, and then they said it will be released the next day.

 

And then the website got attacked and yeah....added a little extra drama to the whole mix.

Lol yep i remember that one i stayed up half the night just to get a chanse to download the thing but i gave up in about 2 in the morning. :mellow:

Wasnt it about 10 days from starting this facebook stuff to release of the NGX ?

Blunt? nah, not at all. I didnt take any offense to it. I am wrong often enough to have gotten used to it being pointed out to me

 

I remember it being odd how like, they said they would give us due warning and then just kind of sprang it out on us that either I was read their post as being something like.....5 days warning, not 24 hours, or I missed something else along the way, which actually would make more sense. I was busy at another forum back in those days.

 

Either way , PMDG 777....bring it on. I am ready to fly it when they are ready to release it

Just making sure.  I know several people who have attempted to read it like a book and got way too frustrated and confused.

 

Good luck on the oral.  My idiot self didn't bring a copy, so I had to do it all off of memory.  Beyond that, my DE was super strict with paperwork and discontinued my check because my medical only had my middle initial and not my full name.  The next few weekends (I was 200mi away from the flight school for college, so weekends were the only time I could do it) had bad weather.  I was pretty rusty for the oral portion by the time we ended up doing it.  It was painful.  Luckily she was one of the more hypothetical DEs, and asked all of the "if you were cleared to land and hold short with [x] feet of runway to the hold short line, would you accept in your current plane?  Why or why not?"  Only hit me with the major FAR knowledge, which I was okay with.

Guys that color of the cockpit could be due to outside weather and position of the sun! When its infront the cockpit appears dark when it's at your 6 o clock it appears Bright! So its completely not independent !

Ehh, bad news guys, I really REALLY don't think it is coming soon:(

 

It is just a gut feeling, i sense, that it is still a good way off

Serious note: the ambience of RSR recent posts has been that it is still a way off, and the fb thing could have just been a mistake. ( I'm in a serious mood, not my normal more happy one!!)

I would really like to see it out shortly while I still have purchase authority from Committee.  Calendar says that permission could be withdrawn inside 10 days. :-D

Please don't release it soon PMDG, I don't want it now as everybody here in the forum, who wants your 777? I already have my COMPLETE,PERFECT, OUTSTANDING cs777, yikes :lol:

 

On a serious note: actually I don't use Facebook, so please keep on updating the forum at the same time.
