June 15, 201312 yr For a minute I thought Ryan was beta testing a large twinjet at Dulles but of course it was the beta for the airport. Anyway it is a must have airport for me to get T7 ready and because Flightbeam makes fantastic work. Michael Gadeberg
June 15, 201312 yr I hear KIAD has a very heavy concentration of United T7s, what a nice airport to put the beta though it's paces! In about a month I'll be flying on a BA 777, and I'll be keeping mental notes of what I see from the window seat as I will enjoy replicating the flight as my first long haul in the PMDG 777. A.J. June 15, 201312 yr I may or may not have been conducting test flights in a certain large twin-engine airliner at beta versions of this airport this week. (Seriously though, it's really nice guys - support Amir and his team and buy this when it comes out. This was a lot of work for them and its a major airport that was sorely needed in high detail.) Thanks for the information ryan!!!,so how far is beta from actual product(ready for release)?  Daniel Jeremy

June 15, 201312 yr W. DC requires a city scenery with all those Washington monuments and buildings...and the airport so close to them all. Nevermind .I was thinking of KDCA Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
June 15, 201312 yr W. DC requires a city scenery with all those Washington monuments and buildings...and the airport so close to them all.Nevermind .I was thinking of KDCA Well...you're point is correct, though...that'd be a wonderful city to have...and we do need a better DCA as well. June 15, 201312 yr we do need a better DCA as well. Just in case you're not aware of it: There's the Tropical Sim version for DCA, which (although it's not quite ORBX quality), is IMO worth the money. And I've found a photoscenery of Washington DC somewhere on the internet, too, which enhances the approach to DCA. Florian
June 15, 201312 yr I use Tropical Sims rendition of KDCA too. You need AES though to activate the jetways. I also had Newport's Wash DC-X photoscenery which did a good job of displaying many of the buildings but have since removed it as I now use MegaSceneryEarth V2 exclusively. I'm waiting too for KIAD from FlightBeam but hopefully they don't have the people movers as everything is now underground. They still have a few aboveground though but not moving passengers. Not exactly sure what they are being used for but I did see one on my visit to Dulles last month. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! June 15, 201312 yr I may or may not have been conducting test flights in a certain large twin-engine airliner at beta versions of this airport this week. lol... Robert's DC-3? I can just imagine the increased traffic in the 777 forum.
June 15, 201312 yr ...hopefully they don't have the people movers as everything is now underground. They still have a few aboveground though but not moving passengers. Not exactly sure what they are being used for but I did see one on my visit to Dulles last month... If they're out of service, it must have been a very recent change - I flew round-trip from KIAD to KSFO toward the end of April and rode the people mover between the main terminal and United at both ends of the trip. There seemed to be several of them at work. Wasn't aware of an underground option - but if there had been, I still would have opted for the people mover. Have to see what's going on out on the ramp... EDIT: Ah, now I get it. The underground train doesn't yet extend to the D concourse, which is where United is located. So the people movers continue to operate to D from the main terminal and from the A concourse. So the people movers are on the way out, but they aren't gone yet. Hat tip to Wikipedia for the update.
