One big advantage is the fully featured and update able g1000. If you have reality xp 530's in your carenado it approaches that functionality. You can't officially update the reality xp nav database beyond 2011 though.

Man, you guys are killing me.

Trying to decide whether or not I want to shell out sixty bucks or not even though I know that this thing would get a lot of use from me.

$60 poorer.

Thanks guys.

You really are one  "Fligh1 B200"  RICHER !!     :p0503:

Was it worth it? What's the verdict?

Performs great on my system. I've been playing around with it for about an hour now. As with all turbine props, you have to stay one step ahead of the plane with your power needs. It flies great, like I'd expect one to actually handle.

I'm going to have to sit down and actually read the manual for it. I'm not too familiar with the G1000 since I'm usually in the PMDG, but it can definitely be learned and mastered just like all things in life.

The engine sound during spool up needs a fix (not sure if it's been mentioned or not). When advancing the power, there is a sudden change in sound (not gradual).

Other than that and not really knowing how to set up a flight plan, I like it. I stayed locked at 30 frames the entire time.

Can't wait to fully learn it and get up in the upper flight levels on vatsim. :-)

UPDATE:

Trying to do a quick test flight after reading through the flight planning section of the manual. I've noticed that I have ZERO departures for IAH and ZERO arrivals in San Antonio. Not sure why when the manual clearly says that it is capable of flying departure and arrival charts. This could be a deal breaker for me. The route from IAH to SAT is as simple as it gets. KIAH WAILN1.WAILN RODIO1 KSAT. Zero SID/STARS available in the G1000. It's a great plane, but this will cause me to uninstall and get my money back unless I'm just totally missing the boat here on something.

Flight1 B200 vs. Carenado B200.  How do they compare?  I already have the Carenado but trying to decide if it's worth the money to get the Flight1 as well.  If you have them both please advice on the advantages of the Flight1.

BUT I don't want to turn this into a bashing of either product I'm just trying to decide.

Well they are different. Both worth having, though you may have to back some settings off with the F1 King. I'm at 5.0ghz with a EVGA 6870, and with my usual maxed out settings it was pretty smooth in cruise, but stuttered pretty bad at FSDream team and Flightbeam airports. The description said it had TAWS, but it didn't like the RXP530. Sometimes mouse clicks would stop working requiring a FSX Reboot, and coordinated turns weren't quite there with my Saitek Cessna pedals. But other than that a really interesting product. I did end up returning it and am back to my Carenado B200 with TSS sounds and RXP530. Quite happy with that combo. Will probably pick up the F1 King again next system upgrade. Id say give the F1 King a try, you have nothing to loose. I got my refund back in little over a day. Flight1 rocks!

That's strange, because on mine, I have 16 SIDs for KIAH (including WAILN1) and 5 STARs for KSAT (including RODIO1). Try a reinstall to ensure that the navdata gets installed properly....are you sure you're loading your flightplan in FSX and then accessing the PROC menu in the G1000 for the SIDs/STARs?

I've seen this before just go and retype the airport code again in the procedures box and the departures and arrivals will show up.  I'm not sure why they decide not to show up but I've seen it happen.

Hope this helps a little.

I hope Flight1 knows about this.  That needs to be fixed.

You can also type your FP in - which is how it's done in real life, which is how I do it in the sim.

See if that makes them show up.

Sounds I think they are excellent. Beta range sounds exactly like I know. Startup seems gradual to me, though I spend more time watching my TRQ and ng takeoff power.

But reading the posts here gave me the impression that this KA G1000 has some improvement?

In what way is the F1's KA G1000 different from their Cessna Mustang G1000? (Apart from the engine gauges)? What have they added or made it better?

My goto plane for the G1000 is the Cessna Mustang which is one of my favt aircrafts in FSX. I also have the F1 G182T. So I felt the G1000/KA has diminishing marginal utility for me and wasn't too keen on parting with $60. After all, there are Analog KAs available for the KA fix. We are a little spoilt with the KA options... Waiting for the Milviz's KA too. :)

As an aside, F1 could come up with a very detailed 172SP (180HP) with the G1000. This aircraft is becoming ubiquitous in many flight schools. This in addition to the upcoming (not sure how many months or years) the Real Air's analog 172SP. I'll get both of these just cause I ge t to fly these for real.

Which is how I am doing it also. I go to the FPL page, enter my departure airport, followed by the waypoints on my route, and my arrival. Then I highlight my departure airport, select PROC and no departures are listed. Same thing with the arrivals.

The route I noticed it on was the IAH-SAT which was a direct transition from the SID to the STAR with nothing in between. Tried a few other flightplans with no luck either.

I'm enjoying this plane with the modernized flight deck, but this is a deal killer for me. I'll go back to the Carenado if need be. Going to uninstall and reinstall and see what happens. Hopefully that'll fix it.

Just a dumb comment... you did put KIAH and KSAT right?  (Not even sure if IAH is a vor anyway)

Other than that did you install via right click "install as admin" when you unwrapped from the red wrapper?  When the wrapper asks if you want to run automatically after extract select NO, and I run it myself after extraction.  This way you can run it as admin.  I've also found this run as admin really has nothing to do with UAC - since mine's been disabled since I installed Win7.  I've had similar navigraph issues with ES Citation and F1 Mustang.

Maybe that will work for you too.  I agree, if it wasn;t working on my end I'd be ###### too.
