July 28, 201312 yr I just had a read of the description on FlightSimStores, it said the "WHOLE world", I wonder how much emphases have been placed on the less-popular, while very dominant countries like China. Has anyone cared or had played around with it to see what does ORBX China look like? If no one, maybe one of the ORBX team members can shed some light on this one? Thanks in advance. China looks amazing !!! I did a quick fly around the scenery with a default GA Aircraft just to see how it looks an it looks amazing compare to default . Right now i am on a flight from KLAX to China . July 28, 201312 yr FTX global night lights are the only 3D night lights I have seen that didn't turn my FSX into a slideshow. Amazing.
July 28, 201312 yr There appears to be a problem with the road lights if you use UTX. You will only see the lights generated by the textures. The lights lining the arterial roadways are missing. Possible to work around this by turning off the UTX night lights? Based on your description, I'm guessing the answer is no - you make it sound like an annotation problem. But I thought I'd ask just in case. Thanks in advance! A general question for early adopters - is FTXG better than / equal to / worse than GEX at extremely low altitude? I've been mostly OK with GEX at normal GA cruise altitudes - say about 5,000 feet - but flying lower than that - say at 500 - 1,500 AGL in helos or the Cub - isn't a very satisfying experience. GEX textures and autogen don't hold up at low altitude. ORBX regions have been better in this regard, so I'm wondering if FTXG is a better option for low-level cruise. Any low / slow FTXG users who can advise? Thanks! Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
July 28, 201312 yr "FTXG is a better option for low-level cruise" The answer is YES better fps - no blurries - sharp textures - for some reason GEX always had a problem with distant blurries no matter what I did From what I have seen the world reminds me of a FTX region payware and it should as they are using a lot of textures they use in FTX payware regions, they did their best to give us a high quality product considering the restrictions they had to work with. July 28, 201312 yr GEX replaces your default textures so doubt it overwrites GEX. Believe FTX Global will appear in the Scenery Library which means it is standing alone. Best regards, Jim if GEX has already overwritten your default textures, then FTX Global will overwrite GEX. FTX Global is the same type of addon as GEX is, with a few extra wrinkles
July 28, 201312 yr "FTXG is a better option for low-level cruise" The answer is YES better fps - no blurries - sharp textures - Thanks much - good to hear, am not surprised since FTX regions always worked better for me at low altitude than GEX. With the textures from the regions in use, that effect should carry over to FTXG. Glad to know it does. Am a little concerned about the problem with lights on UTX roads since better night lighting is another big goal for me. If they can find a way to fix that, then I'm in. July 28, 201312 yr What is "OpenCL" that everyone talks about? Is this some kind of FTX Global service pack or what? I'm about to buy it, but I want to know what this is first. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 28, 201312 yr What is "OpenCL" that everyone talks about? Is this some kind of FTX Global service pack or what? I'm about to buy it, but I want to know what this is first. Its OpenLC means landclass. They will make different landclass for every continent. Büke Yolaçan
July 28, 201312 yr OpenLC will be custom landclass packages for the whole world split up into 7 regions. Release of these regions should start latter this year and go into 2014. They include custom enhanced landclass to work along with FTX Global, which just replaces the default textures.
July 28, 201312 yr Dear Guys; Could you please advise me about these question?(I have GEX for US/CA , Europe and Middle east + UTX for those) 1)Unfortunately I didn't backup from FSX default textures so is it OK that I just install FTX Global over current Textures? 2)I read here some problems between UTX lights and FTX Global. So if I turn off UTX Lights(night) option on UTX option, It will temporary solve the problem? Thanks

July 28, 201312 yr I heard the price will be about $14-$19 per region. July 28, 201312 yr I bought and installed it today. Performance is pretty good! I have yet to do enough testing with it to determine if it boosted my fps at all or not, but the thing that I so far dislike the most is the transitions between places, like city to neighborhood, or neighborhood to urban, there is little to no transition between textures, so its very sudden when there is a change. Very good though. Cant wait to see future updates, it can only get better.
July 28, 201312 yr How much will they cost? Will they be worth it, or is vanilla FTXG ok? doesnt matter you will buy it LOL. FTXG is the hook and new wow wow land class will be irresistible and only $17 bucks a go..x 7 ZORAN
