July 27, 201312 yr Problems with DX10 will need to be addressed before I take the plunge. Too bad, as I was ready to dive in. Alexander Alonso
July 27, 201312 yr They rushed the lights fix, and in the process probably broke the dx10 compatibility. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
July 27, 201312 yr Yeah, the new light system was added while they were preparing the files for upload to the servers (or pretty close before the release anyway). Seemed they forgot to check it with DX10. Luckily I use DX9. BTW That $ 99 is AUD so in US dollars it's something like $ 91. Not much of a difference, but still...
July 27, 201312 yr Do I have to wait for OpenLC or should I go with SceneryTech landclass? Büke Yolaçan
July 27, 201312 yr I would wait for OpenLC because it will be tailored to FTXG. FTXG uses some textures that aren't used by default so I suppose SceneryTech won't use them too. I am not sure though but I personally will wait for OpenLC.
July 27, 201312 yr I would make this purchase only because it would be P3D compatible, and at least there is hope for more development of the core engine there. I really don't want to add much more to this 7+ y/o simulator engine which can't use all of that cheap memory you can now install, can't use DX11, can't use your multiple cores well. I hope P3D breaks thru these limitations. July 27, 201312 yr So its either FTX Global or GEX, right? You cannot use both at the same time as they are basically the same thing? Sorry for noob question. Thanks, Ivo Ivo Dimitrov
July 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member So its either FTX Global or GEX, right? You cannot use both at the same time as they are basically the same thing? Sorry for noob question. Yeah you can only use either of them.
July 27, 201312 yr So its either FTX Global or GEX, right? You cannot use both at the same time as they are basically the same thing? Sorry for noob question. Thanks, Ivo Yes, you are correct. FScamp was quicker!
July 27, 201312 yr Is VAS usage any higher with FTX global? (memory) Is it higher at night with the night lights?
July 27, 201312 yr People complaining about problems in DX10 - Microsoft couldn't even get DX10 preview working right.. why would you want to keep using it? I myself have used FSX DX9, enjoyed it.. I've also tried the DX10 fix from here on AVsim, quite enjoyable but I could not get over the payware airports looking like crap at night. Now I have P3D.. and you FSX users truly do not know what you're missing out on. David Garrison

July 27, 201312 yr Good to know the lights are not working in DX10 before I bought it I'll wait till they fix that. I can't do DX9 its OOM territory for me. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 27, 201312 yr I thought I might dig deep into my pocket to buy it BUT after seeing some of the comparisons, and the DX10 problems, I think I will wait and see what develops. DX10 has come a long way (thanks to the efforts of Steve P and MANY others). Also many of the developers are addressing any DX10 issues they may have with updates or in new releases. I personally (IMHO) do not see the value of $91 US or $99 AUD in the quality of the scenery. _________________________________________________________________________ Bob "roadwarrior" Werab Config: ASUS Prime Motherboard, RYZEN 5, 32 GB Ram, Radeon RX5700 XT, 2 TB SSD
