Anyone has comment on VAS memory usage of FTX global?

You do realize that the majority in this world are not Einsteins? LOL :)

Lol, just can't think abstract enough to resolve those dx10 problems. Not spending afternoon in the shader files tweaking.

Lol what shader tweaking? Just copy Steve's shader fixes and that's all'.you should be ready to go. At least that was my scenario. :)

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

This is the BEST add-on that I've ever purchased for FSX and any other sim.

I'm just glad that it's one purchase for global textures and not the business model GEX, have to get a whole new region just for a service patch. Once OpenLC arrives will you still need UTX as that's another beast I would like to Uninstall? This will make FSX reinstalls so much easier than the nightmare it currently is.

Hopefully FTX Global and FTX OpenLC can be an all in one solution for FSX. I'm hoping so, then everything would blend in so nicely, no more mismatching regions. Everything up to OrbX's high quality standards. This is looking good! I can't wait.

Complete gamechanger for me:-) Made me even buy the RealAir Lancair Legacy for some low level flying in Norway. Now I'm gonna do a Tour Of Norway starting from Dagali!

Indeed, for me all they have to do is fixing those dry areas by applying custom textures to them in OpenLC packs and I will be completely happy with this product after that.

For now I will keep flying mainly around Europe and nice tropical Southeast Asia so problems in dry areas don't bother me too much, still I wish the openLC packs come out soon enough.

Flew into Adelaide tonight which is usually dull with fsx textures, well let me tell you it's not now with FTXG night lights and new textures which have replaced the whole world I might add I was amazed and I don't work for them. Seriously guys this made me feel like I was coming into Adelaide for real the lights the city everything is improved 100 percent. I nearly forgot my flaps gear etc to fussed looking out the window. Lol this is well worth the money.

I just flew around SE Asia for the first time in a verrrry long time and it's so much better now. I'm sure as FTX Global/OpenLC matures, that they will become better with each release/update. Hopefully we as a community can help them make it a better product by reporting any strange things we see, like certain things that don't belong, wrong textures, etc. Since the entire world is very large, and I'm sure there will be certain areas that don't look right.

You will need UTX if you want real roads/waters/coastlines/railroads, etc. That's all so called 'vector data': FTXG and OpenLC won't have any vector data like that. I would also have loved it if FTXG and OpenLC would have been the only needed addons for scenery but I have to say that UTX does add something very valuable to it all... Specially the waters are a LOT better with it.

if GEX has already overwritten your default textures, then FTX Global will overwrite GEX.  FTX Global is the same type of addon as GEX is, with a few extra wrinkles

Good.  Thanks for the info.  Hope this helps someone regarding the installation of these products.

Best regards,

Jim

GEX replaces the default textures and FTX Global will overwrite your GEX textures or default textures. It's not stand alone like the regions, it overwrites all the default/GEX ground textures so you can't switch between GEX and FTXG if you want to without reinstalling GEX to overwrite FTGX. The stuff FTXG adds to the scenery library is for the landclass from what I understand, dont have the product but am sure about it overwritting GEX/default ground textures.

Thanks.  My understanding it definitely overwrites the default/GEX textures (if installed).  This info should help a lot of people making decisions on whether to purchase a product or not.

Best regards,

Jim
