September 20, 201312 yr Thanks. This is going to be a tough one. I can't imagine coming in for landing without Papi lights :( . On the other hand, I fly FS9 as much as FSX and you get both versions when you buy FT Dubai. So this is not exactly a deal breaker for me. Still waiting to hear on the MD-11 and NGX external lights though. September 20, 201312 yr MD11 all good. All lights work at different angles, in spot and locked spot view. In fact they look better. Same for the NGX and the 777. September 20, 201312 yr Initial testing seems pretty good and darn impressive. Really smooth even at 20fps in a heavy area. Havnt seen any white AI, and the night lighting looks superb without black squares, albeit a little bright on the lights in the FTXG pkg. I had reflective waves of lights particularly on the runway but seems like this dawndusksmoothing=0 is the solution and will try next time. I didnt expect 33$ as im thinking this would discourage it to go mainstream, but I did see a number of improvements, so not dissappointed in the least. In fact quite pleased. It really is FSX 10.5 like this. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

September 20, 201312 yr Let us know what you think. Will do. I just finished setting up NI to get Vsync and AA. I just have to install the DX10 fixer now. Just a question about AA. I have it set to 'use application setting' but in the 'how to' doc it asks you to insert two lines.... [Graphics] MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 MultiSampleQuality=8 In NI, I have... 'antialiasing -mode = application controlled' 'antialiasing -setting = application controlled' In DX9, I normally use 8xMS through NI. Now in DX10, I've inserted the two lines but not sure what I should use for the numbers. So far I've left them as they are. I don't use Super Sampling. How can I get plain old 8xMS in DX10? I am getting AA now but I have no idea what type of AA is being used. Nature Boy
September 20, 201312 yr If I have this correct Maurice, and if I am wrong, I am sure Paul will flick my ear, leave AA application controlled, in NV Insp and Steve's fixer will set it for you. I have left this in my fsx.cfg Graphics] MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 MultiSampleQuality=8 Until I find out from Paul. Think he might be asleep, and i flooged a banner that's in my sig, so I might still get a flick round the ear System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. September 20, 201312 yr I have just purchased the DX10 Fixer. Even at 20 quid, it was a no brainer decision. I am looking forward to checking this out later today, and also being able to enable my FSX Power Project pylon network for low and slow VFR flights without suffering from OOMs! September 20, 201312 yr Hmmm... let me think...32$ to transform my medium 4ghz pc to a 5ghz like pc...are you nuts??? I'LL BUY IT!!! TODAY IS AN HISTORICAL DAY FOR FSX!!! And I believe that in the future dx10 will become better and better!! Stratos Moschos
September 20, 201312 yr Let's hope that this encourages addon developers to treat DX10 mode in FSX seriously. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
September 20, 201312 yr Let's hope that this encourages addon developers to treat DX10 mode in FSX seriously. +1 it would certainly be a win-win situation for developers and user alike i think! It may certainly require some effort at first, but i cannot imagine, that now after all the many years and all the experience gathered regarding developing add-ons for FSX and all the many information available regarding DX10, a widely supported DX10 should not be possible. And all the time and effort it may require at first, will almost certainly be worth it just a short time later i think! Cheers, Christoph Enjoy flying and happy landings.
September 20, 201312 yr Now, I really would like to try this one... I confess I am very lazzy these days... I did follow and enabled DX10 mode a few months ago on my last FSX install before this one ( which was pushed by the release of PMDG's 777 ). I am using just default FSX scenery - didn't instal FTXGlobal, although I had it installed in P3D - and there are only two add-on sceneries: Aerosoft's LPMA and Lukla. Can someone get me answers for the following? 1) Does the installer make all of the necessary changes to your FSX install - applying fixes, saving backups, etc.., by itself? 2) Does the installer edit FSX.CFG file, creating the required entries to make a better use of the DX10 mode? 3) Will I be able to run my PMDG 777. I already know there it'll not have cockpit shadows, but that's really not a problem for me. I just want to make sure that in order to fly this magnific add-on I will not be forced to get back to DX9 each time I want to load it? 4) Are Paul's recommendations in it's precious guide still applyable? Sorry for asking probably what has been answered already...
