September 20, 201312 yr Set it to Aniso or Trilinear, Faisal (but Aniso is better looking) - and then User-defined/Off or Application-controlled and 16x, in Inspector. This will work just fine. 16x is a "must". Caveat:- You might find Aniso a little tough with a 4.2-gig proc and a 560Ti, so Trilinear may be the best option. All the Best, hello thanks for the tip , my nvidia ins. settings are all correct . i will try aniso cause im expecting my gtx 780 to arrive within days  Faisal Altheyab

Yes. It's still there...I haven't uninstalled that. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
September 20, 201312 yr Shadows do not work in dx9 you you wont be messing anything Exactly! shadows don't work in Dx9 so why would I pay $32.00 for them not to work in DX10 in the airplane I plan on exclusively flying for the foreseeable future. I think its fare that Steve be compensated for all the hrs it took him to get this up and running I also think it's more than fair that Steve be compensated for his hours of work, it's all of these great dev's that keep our hobby going! He's just not going to get that compensation from me. Due to the fact that, as I explained in my original post, that for me the cost greatly outweighs the benefit. At the very least I was providing Steve with a little free market research. Marketing/sales 101: you can learn a lot more from the people that don't buy you product than those who do. Paul Cordogan
September 20, 201312 yr May be its a stupid question, but, should I install the fixer after or before others addons on fresh install ? And what if after that for next purchase and install ? (Is the software changed something in addons for dx10 compatibility since we do not need AddonConvertX?) Thanks and sorry for my English. Michel

PMDG just didnt implement it, and if you think this fixer is just about vc shadows then you are mistaken. Like I and others are saying it makes FSX feel like a new sim. Its very smooth. If anything you should try the dx10 with the free shader files in the library and then decide. Thats what I did
September 20, 201312 yr Just downloaded and will be playing into the early hours...once I've done the chores. £20 for all the work Steve's put in to this program is miniscule and I'm looking forward to seeing the results on my brand new pc with a brand new FsX... SOH Staff
September 20, 201312 yr Its not steves fault shadows dont work. PMDG just didnt implement it Now I know that it's PMDG's not supporting DX10 that causes these shadows not to work Its very smooth. If anything you should try the dx10 with the free shader files in the library and then decide. Thats what I did I also did that, but I was still experiencing disappearing aircraft lights, runway flickers, black and grey squares, no prog taxi and all the of the rest of the well documented issues w the DX10 preview. So I went back to DX9 because all that tweaking just to get back to a functioning stock FSX wan't worth the smoothness. I know that the purpose of this product is to take out some of that tweaking and guesswork but as I mentioned before, the cost greatly outweighs the benefit Paul Cordogan

September 20, 201312 yr Hello, thank you for the dx10 fixer. a small problem i am facing with flytampa dubai, I appreciate your assistance. Steve
September 20, 201312 yr For anyone who are really on the fence to move from DX9 to Dx10, and possibly considering the freeware portion, its just not going to work right if you have in the back of your mind it sucks and not worth it. As anything that brings benefits, it requires to configure it properly, particularly the freeware. The payware makes things really easy. The benefits are tremendous being so smooth and saving me some VAS. You really have to use it for a bit and not make up your mind with one or two flights or from a couple of posted pics. When I initially tried it about 6 months ago, I had doubts but kept optimistic, even though going back and forth. I finally settled on DX10 and havnt looked back since. September 20, 201312 yr Well, I had to give up. I got DX9 and ENB working again...restoring the fsx.cfg got me back in shape. Not sure what the issue might have been. I don't generally have problems with addons. *shrugs*. I guess it's a donation to the cause. Maybe, something will come to light or I can try it again if I do a rebuild. September 20, 201312 yr I think AA appears to be working OK, but I don't think that anisotropic filtering is working great at the moment. I am seeing shimmering terrain and water textures with 16x AF enabled in Nvidia Inspector, which is nowhere near as good as that in DX9 mode. I really need to be able to solve this problem, because it is a deal breaker for me. Can anyone help?
