October 9, 201312 yr Yep i was one of those lol Hummm! I had my own. And the real down side is to now look up some of those Playmates from back then by name. Look up Miss December 1966 and see her today. Oh my! I have been married to my wife for 42 years and boy am I SO LUCKY !!! My fantasy today is my flight simulation hobby. Since about 1982 it has been so much more fulfilling than the sophisticated male rags at my age of ???????. Oh my! the stuff was more tasteful back then. Today it is just junk. I think it was the Video era in the 1980's that changed things for the worse and it has only got worse ever since. Yes this new project by Joshua Howard is a joke....Basically he is just refining Lara Croft....I wasn't a big fan of her either. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
October 9, 201312 yr I was born a lot later than that time period, but I LOVE how they use thicker women with CURVES! back then. Nature Boy
October 9, 201312 yr but I LOVE how they use thicker women with CURVES! back then. The one I mentioned is MUCH thicker today. Like off the scale thicker. Just illustrates the reality of fantasy. However FS has not let me down. Like my wife of 42 years it just keeps improving (albeit with some outside influence <LOL>). October 9, 201312 yr Well, there's a novel concept. Making business decisions based on what will sell the most rather than on what's morally correct. Shame on you Joshua Howard, for doing what everyone's been doing since mankind developed the ability to speak. Rolf Lindbom
October 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Ah so he's working for Crytek now? That sounds like a good place for him, since Crysis 1 everything Crytek has made has been most disappointing. I loved the freedom Crysis 1 had, a full visual map & mission editor, possibility to roam around beautiful island environments and complete tasks in whatever way you wanted... It's the first game I ever created custom content for. Then came Crysis 2, a boring tunnel like first person shooter around New York, all the freedom which made Crysis 1 so good was suddenly gone. Crysis 3 doesn't seem to be much better as far as I know + I believe it doesn't include a map editor which kills any remaining interest. Their game engine is quite awesome though but their games aren't anymore.
October 9, 201312 yr Way to go Joshua Howard! You successfully helped to kill off one of the most historic and well recognized titles in all of the gaming universe, and certainly the least misogynistic game ever, and you are now pandering to 14 year old boys with T&A content! Congratulations. http://www.polygon.com/2013/10/8/4815826/crytek-warfaces-sexualized-female-skins-were-designed-from-regional Joshua is a true piece of work who does what the suites want him to do with no passion for the product he's leading. He's a nome you bring in, bark out orders to, and have no worry about push back. No passion, no forethought, only what will sell (which actually doesn't sell). People like this really boggle my mind. Those with true talent in this world are many times overlooked or under appreciated and the hacks get the jobs yet the question is asked by companies like Microsoft why their missing the mark. It will be interesting to see where Steve Ballmer ends up once he's truly sent out the door at Microsoft. He's another one that all but drives a company into the ground and most likely will find a profitable future at the expense of the company he's working for. Kind of reminds me of the discussion we had concerning the managers airlines continue to hire over and over again. Maybe it's all in who you know versus what you know and what you can actually bring to the table. EDIT: I just did a Google search on 'Joshua Howard Microsoft' not intending to see anything about Flight but rather his resume as to what he's done outside of Flight and all that came up was the failure of Flight. With a rap sheet like that with a simple search of his tenure at Microsoft why is this guy getting any jobs? It is truly bizarre many of us could be either let go from a job or don't get it at all if an employer saw something like this about us yet a guy like Joshua can still get work, that's amazing... Like I said above it's all in who you know but the person you know has to convince others to take a chance on you unless who you know is the CEO. I could see if there were one or two articles about Joshua and Flight but when you put his name with Microsoft all you get is how bad he failed with Flight. He should be working at McDonald's or looking for a new career under a table somewhere. Cronyism is truly why until the next big thing comes along quality will continually go down hill in technology... This explains why true innovation is lacking and a company like Microsoft can't figure out they have the business market with server/programming solutions (heck they put 'Metro' on Windows Server 2013 without the ability to turn it off, everyone knows Windows Server isn't going to be used on a smart phone; this is pure laziness and lack of common since) and Apple has the home/artist/mobile market. This is why they don't know what Flight Simulator actually is yet Lockheed does. October 9, 201312 yr Wait, I know that he was the leader of the Microsoft Flight team after Pat Cook left, but was he the one that decided to kill the Flight Simulator franchise too? I hate him even more now.
October 9, 201312 yr Corporate stooges...all about the money, never about the passion. When corporations start heading in that direction, its all over. FSX was one of the few genuine products MS put out that deserved respect. What a sad road to travel on again. :( Going back to dx10 forum. October 9, 201312 yr Don't forget Guys, it's about the money. It's always about the money. The latest version of Grand Theft Auto that came out just a few weeks ago, grossed $800,000,000.00. That's EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS!. And that was just what they sold ON THE FIRST DAY. Somebody must know the market.

The sales figures and the lack of interest in things that actually make the world a better place says allot about this generation the world over. October 9, 201312 yr Hmm, that's s funny, if you have been to business school in the last 30 years, half the curriculum is ethics and morality I work for a large engineering company. Some time ago, we started getting "Ethics" as part of our standard dose of annual training. It was harmless enough. We even had a Dilbert ethics game for a couple of years. It all boiled down to "do the right thing." Then, a few years back, they put the Legal Department in charge of ethics training, and it changed. "Do the right thing" went away, and "Don't expose the company to liability" replaced it. Now, I think of ethics training as a case of the fox guarding the hen house.
