2 weeks of silence

Featured Replies

Hmmm, its strange that its been 2 weeks without an update on the blog. Anyone know what's up? Or is silence golden right now.

I always feel like a quite forum near a major release is a good thing. I am sure the Devs and all concerned are busy stomping on bugs and getting release problems ironed out. Just keeping their marketing guys from putting a load on their back that they can't carry is a full time job....LOL

Reading in the LM forum, they have indicated that they needed to get back to work. The questions and comments were getting a bit out of hand so they politely have cut down chatter. As in any forum, there are always those few who just cannot keep their mouth shut. So now we wait for crumbs.....

I think it was the leaked information from beta-owners that "forced" them to go public at this point without a real schedule for release or marketing. Now that the fire is extinguished they figure things out...

Isn't spectulation fun :)

Some people trolling, asking the same questions they'd already answered over and over, rubbed WBard the wrong way.

So much like those that ticked the Aces team off, yet another development team has decided to back off public interaction.

Is that why there's no Prepar3D v2.0 Developer Blog – SimDirector discussion thread?

That was what my guess was that people were not going to bother since something new was just on the horizon.

I think I can see the day when the LM forum is only available to purchasers of the Professional version 2.0. As I have mentioned before, do not be surprised if a third party becomes the vendor/supporter for P3D Ver 1.x.

Two weeks is nothing.. This isn't the next Call Of Duty or Battlefield 4 so there is no launch campaign needed to endlessly filter out over the top marketing news filled with buzz words and cut scenes every single day until the product is released to leave all potential customers frothing at the mouth to make instant blind purchases the day of release..  It's a huge aerospace company, not EA..

Yay... 2 weeks of silence was awesome!! Loved it.

Damnation.. spoilt by those who sit & EXPECT, even demand info. To those I say, fly your existing sims, practice, practice, practice. & be patient, like the rest of us. I remember in the old days, the guys also kept on demanding as soon as info was put out there. These are the guys that also had the first moans!!

Yes -- speculation is fun -- but getting very boring now! Come on guys! Patience is a virtue, virtue is a grace, Grace was a little girl that never washed her face.  ;-)

I can understand the silence on the forums, but Wesley promised regular developer blog updates. The inactivity there is a bit troubling. It suggests that they aren't particularly close to release, as I would expect several more teaser blogs before the release. I'm sure they are hard at work with the beta results, and we will hear more soon.

It indicates Deja Vue.   The kind I have seen from a few companies that come out with good intentions and then get bombarded by mischief.

It doesn't indicate trouble in the slightest.  It's a pattern I have seen before and only indicates they may have been pestered beyond reasonably being able to keep up with the 'social' side of it.  Thats all it is, developers using their spare time to keep us informed and when thats too hard or no longer rewarding for them then why should they keep it up?

I agree it turned into a "social" media event for some. That is why we have Facebook for people who are compelled to say something. Fortunately the program is beyond the goofy "save the world" games and thus filters out many who might be demanding and disruptive.

Let's see now - will P3D V2 be out in time for the Christmas buying season ???? :Clown: :Clown: :Clown:
