November 16, 201312 yr Hi, I don't buy from developers that don't support P3D. I've used P3D since day one, I'm using 1.4 now and will be using 2.0 just as soon as it arrives. November 16, 201312 yr -1 here as well. Not looking to upgrade anytime soon. Not after all the investments I've made to have FSX finally give me some form of decent performance.
November 16, 201312 yr Moderator Hi, I don't buy from developers that don't support P3D. I dont buy sims that my favorite developers dont support. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
November 16, 201312 yr +1, on day 1. And I don't support developers who don't support both FSX/P3D. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
November 16, 201312 yr I will definitely have a go. FS9 was running great with hundreds of add ons and I made the switch to FSX. It is no secret that FS9 has always been more stable. So why would I not try a more stable platform wih better graphics and better processing pths if it was available? FSX appears to be at the very limit of what you can add to it. When we are talking of having to disable third party scenery you are flying over because your third party aeroplane might cause a CTD I feel the limit of fsx has been reached. Very keen to try the new platfomr. Sent from my Mobile thing Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 16, 201312 yr Negative! Right now FSX is running great and I'm looking forward to a few new airports that ill be released soon. I found out, through trials and tribulations, that software addon development is more important than the hardware. The new addons are much better performers and developers are getting better at designing for FSX and its limitations. ORBX has demonstrated that with the right approach even night lighting can be designed to perform great. I have WAY too many FANTASTIC addons that must work with P3D V2 and I seriously doubt that they will. So, I'm sticking with FSX. MSFS
November 16, 201312 yr Unfortunately I'm not sure if the CTD/OOM thing will be fixed with p3d. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 16, 201312 yr -1/2. I shall wait to see what addons I have that can be used and if not how much developers will be charging for a port over. WAY too much invested in an FSX that works just fine for just some performance improvements to start over.
November 16, 201312 yr - -1 No thanks; I already own two box copies of FSX, and oh wait! with this, you are only buying the rights to use, not the right to own. Alan Twiggys AOPA Member "All Things Aviation"
November 16, 201312 yr I lost hundreds in add ons when I ported from FS9 to FSX, which in my eyes is still an inferior platform. Not one of those addons could be ported over. Orbx and many others already support P3D, so expect just about every one of their new releases to have a dual installer. This is groundhog day for some. The same arguments when fsx came out, difference is, we lost every add on from FS9 as it could not be ported over. I think we have plenty to smile about here. A sim that is still supported, is still being improved, works better than the old one, is more stable, and you can port most of your existing add ons to it. November 16, 201312 yr FSX is great. I can't imagine moving unless I'm CONVINCED it's a HUGE improvement. Stan
November 17, 201312 yr FSX is great. I can't imagine moving unless I'm CONVINCED it's a HUGE improvement. Stan If all my fsx addons can be used and pmdg get on board then.......ok

November 17, 201312 yr I'll probably buy a copy, but it will depend on performance as to whether it becomes my go to sim. If nothing else I'll have FSX and P3Dv2 on my computer.
