Razbam Metroliner Released

Hi, I bought both versions, FSX and P3D2, during the pre-purchase beta period.  It is a very nice aircraft, with an exceptional VC, with just about everything functioning and/or simulated.  However, there are a few faults that need addressing...for example the GPS(it's a Trimble) is not fully functioning, and propeller feathering is not simulated.

No, the SP is not out yet, and Razbam has not answered recent queries about its release.  You can install an RXP 2D popup, but you will not be able to integrate it into the panel.

My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAMNoctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

The forum over there is pretty quite. I wish they'd at least give us a blank area so we can put the RXP stuff in ourselves. I've asked about getting a steam HSI but that like many things have gone unanswered. Forgetting that. Getting the RXP stuff in the vc even if its not in the model, and fixing the other bugs would make this plane a 9/10 for sure.

Hope the SP is out soon

I wish they'd monitor AVSIM's forums more closely to see all the positive responses this release has created, yet some minor things need to be addressed in a service pack (I'm for one am suffering from the GPS not function like some other users do).

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely in love with this rendition of the Metroliner by Razbam, but as a first time Razbam customer I'm stunned by the lack of support via their forum.

Cheers,

Pete

Took the words right out of my mouth there

I bought the Metroliner as a Beta customer, I had a lot of issues with access to Razbams store, which after weeks of pleading via email was finally addressed - I could finally download my purchase. After install there were problems with the aircraft that carried right through to the release aircraft. Numerous emails, forums posts by myself and others, have gone unanswered. Customer frustration and lack of support is evident in the Forums. A reply from one of the moderators "there are only two of us and so many hours in the day...." doesn't install confidence in their business model, or their ability to fix the issues that have surfaced.  Razbam needs to get over their addiction to Facebook of entering progress and updates on yet to be released aircraft and concentrate on providing support to those of us, who. in good faith, purchased  a product that has been released but not fixed. I have second thoughts on buying any more Razbam aircraft after the way they treat their customers.

I can't keep buying $50.00 addons.  I'll pick this up when it goes on sale. Same for the CS L1011 and Milviz 350i etc.  Not knocking these products simply that after spending $5k on FSX in 2 1/2 years I gotta moderate now.

What exactly are your problems with it? Based on some quick flights I've done with the Metroliner I can't think of any serious problem.

I agree they should stop using Facebook as the main way of communication, forums are generally a lot more useful.

When I see a business that uses Facebay as their primary communication I don't get the feeling that I'm dealing with serious business professionals. It's like someone with an aol e-mail address.

The autopilot doesn't power up, the landing lights don't illuminate, Payload manager doesn't work.

Thanks for all the insight, looks like I'm holding off on this one.

Hopefully there will be some turnaround and fixes/support to justify my $50.

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

I was hoping for a fast cargo hauler that is still used today. Guess I will just wait and hope that Carenado releases a 1900C

Well, this baby is fairly fast - a lot more than the recently released 1900D. I have the GPS power problem, but the HSI displays a map view and it flies an FSX route just fine - in fact its a real blast to fly.

The autopilot is not built in to the virtual cockpit, but is included as a last minute inclusion pop-up, as most of the real versions did not have an autopilot. I have no problem with it powering up.

The load manager also works fine for me.

Yes, I'm a bit perplexed over the lack of notification on the status of the SP, but for the most part, this is a fairly well done plane with no more problems than most first issues (in fact fewer than some well known names). If you're looking for a nice twin turbo, this is well worth getting- even as is. I'm hoping it will be even nicer with the SP.

If I am going to spend that kind of money on an airplane it must not have negatives that would make me not enjoy flying. I need a gps capable of nav updates. The weather radar seems nice, does it work properly? If only I could place a 430 or 530 from Reality XP in the virtual cockpit I would buy it. But now I think I will wait for Carenado to hopefully release a 1900C or the MilViz Kingair 350i. I want something PMDG quality but a small fast prop to enjoy Orbx areas. Right now that is the Duke v2 but it is too slow I need something faster.

Then stay away from this one. I made a mistake and purchased it after i saw VC pictures and after i read some comments. But i am very disappointed. VC looks nice in videos and pics, but it's not so good in reality, i mean in FSX. Flight model is bad in my opinion, and there are too much broken and poorly modeled things for addon at this price. I don't think service pack will make this addon more enjoyable for me, they are focused on things other then flight model and system complexity/fidelity.

But i learned a lot. I'm never buying unfinished addons again, and i'm never buying planes that are not PMDG, Majestic, RealAir, A2A...
