June 17, 201411 yr Moderator My Power Target slider maxes out at 106%. My guess is that's because my 780 is a SC card (it is factory overclocked at 967MHz core/1020MHz boost). I also have to re-enable the Frame Rate Target every time I restart my PC (and I have Precision X set to start up with WIndows). If your card has a dual bios - move the switch on the card to the other one - this unlocks the slider for extra overclocking. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 17, 201411 yr Made a quick no frills video,... Rather impressive, Rob, for 'No frills'. At the 8:45 mark, the outside view over the mountains was simply outstanding. Nicely done, once again. Cheers, Jazz
June 17, 201411 yr for 'No frills'. At the 8:45 mark, the outside view over the mountains was simply outstanding. My biggest problem is deciding what to cut out, I want to leave it ALL in ... but I know that wouldn't be wise both for the audience and conversion/upload time. Of course when compressing for YouTube I lose some of the finer quality of the visuals that I experience during the simulated flight ... I often find myself staring out the window rather than staying "on the job" of flight. Cheers, Rob.
June 17, 201411 yr I often find myself staring out the window rather than staying "on the job" of flight. You know that's not allowed with P3D Rob...tsk tsk
June 19, 201411 yr What I find not funny at all...is that the TItan series...packed with all that horsepower, and, as reported by users stating FPS's.... isn't truly putting out much more...and in some cases only equal...to my SuperClock Plus. I find that..not a good thing. What is holding back FPS on Titan operated systems? Probable answer...as always in P3D/FSX....the CPU 'glass ceiling'. Not good.... I'm afraid so. June 19, 201411 yr Hopefully in the next patch we will see more work load migrated off the CPU to the GPU. My Titan Black usage on average is 60% so there is still a lot of work it can do.
June 19, 201411 yr Author Wow..folks...KEEP PLAYING around with your clock and power settings within EVGA Precision X software, with a locked Frame Target of 30. I have been adjusting bit by bit, all different settings on my POWER and both CLOCK offsets the better part of today...and have found the sweet spot for maximum FPS (sustained!) at 45-47, with ASN running two cloud layers today over Lake Superior, headed East. This is for my EVGA SuperClock Plus GTX680 2GB. These FPS's are at FL330, whereby I had been getting only into the high 30's. Apples to Apples, I dialed in another 5 FPS or so out of the old girl. So, at the moment, my sustains are in the 45-47 range, with peaks as high as 77 FPS. It is really sensitive, these settings, going either up, or down a few notches, can dramatically affect FPS performance. I had been running with 120,100,60. I am now locked in at 110,50,30, or half of the overclock that I had. I maintain under 77 C at these settings, and no further disconnect of driver and card using the 337.88's. Oh, and with Rich's NI tips...Lake Superior and area has never looked better outside the cockpit window of the 737-800 :P Yeehaaaaaaaaaaaaw! Post Edit: Oh by the way...for those gritting their teeth about micro-stutter in P3D v2.2...you even get this phenomena at an FPS of 45 FPS as well. Not too bad..but it is there. Bummer....hope this is addressed in 2.3.
June 19, 201411 yr Hey Mitch, really curious why you run such a conservative memory overclock - i run the same card as you and set the memory offset between 250-300 Mhz without a change in stability or temperature.

June 19, 201411 yr Author Hey Mitch, really curious why you run such a conservative memory overclock - i run the same card as you and set the memory offset between 250-300 Mhz without a change in stability or temperature. Dylan, I was getting with the 337.88's card/driver disconnects. With now running at 110,50,30...I am descending from FL330-----------------------------------> towards my 6,200 assigned by ATC into Toronto,...and am maintaining with building auto-gen detail (ORBX G)...still 39-45 FPS. What more could I want? Stability..and FPS in the high 30 to mid 40's. Good stuff...most happy as it is. BTW, I'm on air, for cooling. Also...as I descend at 8,000 feet over Orangeville, Ontario, and with my published (this thread) cfg file..with the added add-on of Vegetation receive/cast...I am still popping 45 FPS! Phenomenal performance, with ASN also in play and doing its 'thang. The cross-hairs are getting more into focus, by the hour...:) Post Edit: Well...the 737-800 has just taxi'ed to the gate...and pretty well from FL330, to touching the numbers, I was able to maintain 40-45 FPS, with peaks even at only 3000 feet...still peaking at mid 50's. P3D has the performance, you only have to coax it out of your hardware.....now...for the micro-stutters, no matter HOW many FPS you pump out...that is now at the feet of LM. I'm sure it will be addressed, one way or another.... :) Mitch'er Ha! First time I recall you not being 150% exuberant Mitch! You are a real person after all! :-) Truly Turb...I call everything as I see it....no F-boy of any particular sim. If it SUCKS...you know...if it GLOWS HOT...you know that as well. P3D is getting hour-by-the-hour, RED HOT! :) I have this puppy in my sights..and am dialing in the cross-hairs, LOL! Happy P3D Camper....
June 19, 201411 yr My Nvidia Control Panel does not have anything that says Global Settings. My card is a GeForce GTX 660. Could that selection be located somewhere else? Thanks. Howard
June 19, 201411 yr Great stuff Mitch - sounds like your still having a blast buddy :clapping: Rich Sennett

I'm am able to easily oc the black to +400 memory and +50 GPU. Can probably go higher if I try.
