Whatever Happened To Realair?

Featured Replies

If RA did a current model 172 with a full glass cockpit I could get very excited.

I would perfer something that hasn't been A2A'd or RealAir'd to max realism yet. Meaning, something that Carenado has done LOL

Im happy I didn't max out my hanger with Garbage. Now I only fly Real Air,PMDG , A2A and the Aerosoft otter . I'm quietly waiting for the Mliviz king Air and the biz jet from Eagle Soft but they have gone quite on that one?

I don't have much time in-between work/real flying to sit around topping up oil and changing wheel spats. I just want to load up and fly.

Where are you Rob Young?

Hope Rob or someone from RA is reading this thread.  There is money to be made.  Our wallets are ready.  All we need is a new RA aircraft.

It's not quiet in the Eaglesoft forums. Early VC renders of the XLS+ are posted.

I would be interested if they did a C172 with G1000, and made it compatible with the Mindstar G1000.

I'm pretty sure they said that their C172 would have steam gauges. But seeing how the A2A C172 has steam gauges, I'd prefer the RealAir one to have a glass cockpit as well.

Every single A2A bird, you can turn the damage and stuff off and just fly.

You really are missing out if that is your worry. Honestly, I keep it all turned on, and spend hardly any time at all messing with anything like that.

Sorry about going off topic but since we mentioned A2A in this thread I went ahead and took advantage of the sale and bought the Cherokee. Wanted to support the FSX developers. Even though I'm not to excited about the maintenance features, I still going to look at it with an open mind and try to enjoy it. Hell, I might end up loving it. Hehe

Just hit the buy button myself after teasing myself with hours of you tube vids lol

I do eagerly await the Duke v2 turbine though and the fact that real air is not responding here ( trust me they are reading) leads me to guess that something is up

There's nothing quite like a Real Air plane when it comes to flight handling and modeling. I hope for an IFR capable taildragger akin to a modernized ACA Scout. It's a class of aircraft that I think they would do extremely well, and there isn't much available in the market for it. In fact, if anyone could recommend a high quality IFR capable taildragger for bush flying, I am all ears.

I'd also highly welcome if RA's C172 would offer a dedicated glass cockpit and/or a dedicated integration into the VC of Flight1's GTN 750/650 gauges as this would certainly be a tempting and interesting alternative/addition for/to A2A's great C172 (where, if not wanted, maintenance can be turned off by the way, just mentioning again to avoid any misunderstandings ).

So let's see what RA may come up with and i am pretty sure lots of simmers here, including myself, are already pretty excited about it!

Enjoy flying and happy landings.

Well, maintenance for A2A C172 can be turned off, however keep in mind that you are paying for something that you will not be using. Whatsmore, AFAIK there is built in limit in FSX with number of special effects, so if A2A pays focus to make more variety of sounds in cockpit (ie. knobs, switches etc) it can be changed to add windshield rain effect (as it is in RA Duke v2) or something else.

I like A2A C172 however I would love to see how RA deals with the same plane. Their approach is more close to what I expect to get.

It is also less expensive and there is no weird P3D licensing issues.

Real Air is great, but they are losing a lot of business by not supporting P3D.

Those excuses don't fly anymore. Those issues haven't stopped A2A and most other developers. It was somewhat understandable when v 2 was first released, but now that we are nearing v 2.3, it's time to embrace the future.
