EDIT: or sim.cfg if that is what is present. For some reason I couldn't edit that last post.   Here's a comparison:   B737-700 FAIB:     B737-800 My Traffic:     At the same AI LOD, the

Well it could be UT2 v MyT6.

Think you know am not one for siting on the fence but its just a case of different taste's, enjoy what you enjoy.

But anyone thinking of getting My6 =READ THE MANUAL. Its that easy.

Ive never had any freeware AI or used UT2, so like wise I cannot knock something Ive not tried. Am happy with what I have.

Jay as you mentioned:

"I had a good laugh when I looked at these in MyTrafficMilitary.bgl. At EKCH there were only four schedules and all were aircraft of  countries other than Denmark, two B707s an An26 (Antonov) and an An74. At EKEB, there was similarly two schedules, one with an An26 and the other with a An74. At EKTS there was only one schedule with a BN2, which I can't locate in the My T Pro aircraft list. At EKKA there was one schedule with an An26."

Being from Denmark and knowing that none of the above aircrafts fly into any of these airports, I find it to be really unrealistic, and someone mentioned that he didn't care about flightplans. Well I do, and would like to see planes that actually flies to certain airports and at the right times, but I guess we all have our own idea about what a good ai addon is.

I HAVE bought MyT6, but haven't installed it yet, and think I'll be sticking with what I have for the moment (WOAI) that gives me a little more realistic experience. And I do have a failrly powerfull PC that can handle it, so I don't have any problems with it being a little harder on fps.

I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do.

Jorn,

I know that it somewhat defeats the whole purpose of a "turn key" AI add on like My Traffic Pro 6, but just like with WoAI, it is rather easy to add flights for individual airports. But maintaining a large personal collection of schedules, aircraft and liveries is far too time-consuming for most flight simmers. It's unfortunate that of the payware AI packages, only My Traffic Pro is being kept up to date and supported on all 3 major flight sim platforms (FSX, FSX-SE and P3d), but I don't see that changing in the near future. When I first started using using AI add-ons, I started out with WoAI and then I bought JF Traffic 360. The latter wouldn't run properly on Win 8 and then it wouldn't run at all with P3d 2. This is why I went with My T Pro. I guess I'm just lazy and like to fly more than I like to fiddle and tinker. I still keep WoAI on my FSX-SE installation, even though I hardly use that sim anymore.

To top it all off, 90% of the posts in this thread are not exactly singing the praises of MT6, most of the posts are paying customers providing customer support for other paying customers. Where's Burkhard in all of this? I realise he probably has enough on his plate with support questions over on his own forum, but I don't see him coming to AVSIM to defend his own product and help people out. (like all the other *quality* developers do)

Hi Neil,

So if I understand correctly, the following scenario for you would be quite plausible:

You purchase a brand new car from Dealership A. As you're driving around, there are some features etc. in your brand-new car that you feel you need assistance with. Instead of driving back to Dealership A for assistance (Burkhard's forum), you decide to pop in to Dealership B (Avsim). You now expect the owner of Dealership A to head over to Dealership B to offer you assistance?

Seriously.....?

Cheers,

Jerome

Actually, he didn't even buy the brand new car...

Maybe time to try to be objective here or maybe Avsim would consider locking this post; which appears to be heading for the gutter.

You characters would get a lot more cred if you attacked the post and not the poster. I won't add examples, as it would probably take up several pages.

The UI is archaic and unintuitive and that is in comparison to other flight sim IUs; most of which are nothing to write home about. It's not hard to fix.

The documentation is sketchy. If you have to go on a forum to ask fellow users how to install and configure a program; somethin' ain't right. Note: Burkhard as acknowledged the documentation needs to be fixed.

Apart from that, the program is pretty good. Probably better than Traffic 360 and, unlike UT2, it is alive. If you have the time and patience, you could probably create your own masterpiece. If everyone did, MyTraffic wouldn't exist.

Now all you defenders of the faith are welcome to ride down from your virtual hills, on your digital steeds, and cut me to pieces with your binary swords.

Graham -

I agree with your opinion of the UI and, as noted, so does Burkhard. I doubt that there is anyone who would disagree.

My issue with the poster was his stance that an AI program without actual real world flightplans is an awful program. the need for real f/p's is really subjective. I have RARELY heard complaints about that in regards to ANY AI program. For some, it may be important but it's lack doesn't make the program bad.

I felt the poster had an agenda and wasn't just voicing an opinion about a feature.

Consider yourself pierced by my binary sword!

I don't get the need to attack in any form ;-) Just sharing opinions in a respectful manner would be enough

I had a wonderful flight from 2O1 (Gansner Field) to KRNO (Reno NV).

Reno is a big UPS/FedEx hub and sure enough FedEx was just ready to roll as I arrived, then I taxi to my spot and found a UPS 777 fueling and then taxi to Takeoff.  Sounds from taxi to spool up from take were spot on and very good, not too loud, not too soft, and convincing (just right).

Enroute I encountered/spotted many aircraft in my vicinity and a couple of traffic warnings from the GTN 750 ... both GA and Commercial (have them set to 20/20 and I still get a lot of traffic).

I agree the UI and setup leaves room to improve, but the content is very solid and delivered exactly what I hoped with no significant VAS or FPS hit ... great product for my $20.

Cheers, Rob.

Fair point. Touche!

Unfortunate choice of words on my part. I sould have used agree/disagree.

I saw saw the post about a $20 MyTraffic ver 6 and jumped on it.  I can now say I am glad I only paid $20.  After 3 weeks of really trying to give it a chance, this last weekend I dumped it completely and have reinstalled WOAI.

My reasons for removing MyTraffic was simple, performance versus eye candy was my primary reason.  I do not have a top fo the line system but my system is not slouch as I can run P3D nearly wide open and maintain 30 FPS with no stutters and that is flying a Aerosoft A320 or a PMDG 737.  But what I got with MyTraffic was 15 FPS and stutters up the wazoo!  I tried turning P3D down, I reduced traffic, and still the minute I was in vicinity of KLAX, KATL, or KJFK your could almost hear with your imagination the cogs starting to squeal and snap under the load. So that what made me decide to hit the remove button.

The other thing about this program was the interfaces, for those that are thinking about creating an add-on.  A piece of advice KISS!  It took me 3 days with help from the Burkhard to get the darn thing up and running.  Maybe I am in the minority, but if I pay for a peice of software, I expect it to load itself, interface with what ever it is supposed to, and run, period!

Oh, and if it would nto be too much problem, be able to bring me a Beer after take-off!  But seriously, if I or you pay for a product, it should work and not be more hassle to install.  "Mr Doe here is your new car radio, all you have to do now is install the latest software and have it interface with your cars on board computer."  How long do you think that car radio manufacturer would stay in business.

Now freeware or Beta test software, got it!  If its free, then shut up and enjoy it or leave it alone.

I read one post that said, why not just log into VATSIM if you want airtraffic, a man beyond his years in wisdom!

Did you install and run the freeware Air Traffic Manager app? AI Traffic places a major burden on even the newest hardware because P3d only controls the percent of maximum AI Aircraft within the user's immediate area ("bubble"). When one flies in a major metropolitan area with multiple large airports, the bubble often contains hundreds of AI aircraft and this kills performance. The app limits the maximum number of AI aircraft within the bubble.

Just what I was thinking Jay.

At huge airports I use a bubble of 75.

I have seen no hit on fps worth talking about with MyT6. I run 20% now down from 30% for the reason 20 seems to give 90% of 30% in the sim. Did that make since?
